  • THE MAGIC OF YIN38:12

YIN YOGA is for everybody, the inflexible due to inactivity or athletic activity that tightens the hamstrings or hardens the core.  Also of huge benefit from those recovering from illness or trauma of the tissues due to surgery, accidents which may leave adhesions ( scar tissue within the body. Anyone feeling stiff will benefit from this practice, it is not restorative as we will be working with the joints, connective tissue, ligaments, and bones and sometimes be somewhat challenging

The postures are held for up to 3  minutes. there are no standing postures and each posture is to be held in stillness. You will then effortlessly create a meditative state- and naturally, learn to meditate.  Yin Yoga offers the ideal opportunity to be in the moment with full awareness, not forced to think about anything or to do anything

We then become the Observer of our thoughts and enter into the mindful process, which in turn leads to meditation

  • YIN TO CALM34:51

  • WHEN YOU JUST CANNOT SLEEP7:15

Not being able to sleep, tossing and turning, it happens to us all.  Our Parasympathetic nervous system is on alert and we need to calm everything down to enable us to sleep well.  Cortisol  hormones can create havoc.

Try the Body Scan meditation in bed.  Just scan each part of your body, either from the top of the head down or from the feet up, take your time and be aware of each part of the body and all the subtle sessions.

  • MEDITATION IS EASIER THAN YOU THINK5:20

Why meditate? and how can you teach me?

It is almost like asking to teach me to breathe, you just do.

The benefits of meditation ripple through everything we do in life.  When we first start to meditate it can be challenging, and yet it is so simple, as it is just awareness.  The benefits are huge, you will have more energy. be healthier, think and work more efficiently, and enjoy all life has to offer. For meditation, we keep the mind alert as we relax by focusing on something. The easiest thing to focus on for a beginner is the breath, We just observe our inhale breath and the exhale breath, if distractions come and they will, a car door slamming, the telephone rings, the washing machine turns on, we just bring our mind back to the breath. It is that simple.

Relaxation is very different from meditation here you are allowed to let the mind wander, it may drift between sleep and fantasy and thoughts  It is a pleasant state but it is no meditation. However, relaxation is still a wonderful thing to do.   You can also meditate on an object, try the meditate for just three minutes audio

  • THE MAKING OF A SANKALPA/AFFIRMATION2:11

The Sankalpa is very important in making changes within your life.

  • BONUS LECTURE YOGIC SLEEP20:53

Yoga Nidra is also known as Yogic Sleep.  Using your Sankalpa, lay down and do nothing just follow my voice, if you drift off come back to my voice.  Don't worry if you do fall asleep you will still receive the benefits of Yoga Nidra
