There are 4 types of 'figure 8 hips' covered in this video. They include the horizontal figure 8 twists from front to back and back to front. The vertical figure 8's are called guccis, which scoop from down to up, and mias which scoop from up to down.
Another name for head slides is chin slides.
A 'One and a half' is what my group refers to as 'one foot flat' and a 'half of another foot' on the floor for a side stance.

Hip Hits are an essential belly dance move.
Undulations are also referred to as body waves or body rolls. When undulations are used as a traveling step, they are referred to as camels or camel rolls.

Receive demonstrations of common belly dance props including veils, veil moves, sword, cane, candle, tambourine, candelabra, fan veils, Isis wings and zills. Put all the moves together at the end for a dance!
This course is primarily designed for people that are interested in belly dancing with an ecclectic group like The Secret Bellydancers of Muskegon. We do a little bit of everything, so the student can get a taste of everything they may experience in the belly dance journey.
It is set up for easy learning and simple replication of belly dance movement and a fun, unique form of dance. Learning the dance props that are special to belly dance is so fun! These lessons are a unique perspective that you may not get elsewhere. Expression through dance is so freeing! You will be able to take the information from this course into account when you search for a class, instructor or a workshop in your area, or you can use it in your own individual dance practice or choreography at home or with others!
