|Section 1: Introduction|
|In this Introduction video I will show you final presentation. In each lesson you will learn how to create parts of it step by step.|
|I strongly suggest you to perform the same actions as I will do during the course with help of Exercise Files. You can find them in MATERIALS section on the right side of learn desktop.
Name of Exercise files which you should open at the beginning of each lesson is the same as name of lecture.
Final exercise files are also included and have *FINAL* letters at the end of file name.
Some lessons doesn't have starting exercise files. In this case you should start with creation of new blank Keynote presentation.
Whole set of exercise files and set of media files is included into this lesson. Feel free to download and use it.
|Section 2: Getting started with Keynote|
|How to find Keynote and install on your Mac|
|You will create your first presentation with Keynote in a few clicks|
|Overview of main Keynote interface components: Menu, Toolbar, Format Bar, Left Column and Slide Edit Area|
|Section 3: Slides organization and Themes|
|You will learn how to add new slides to your presentation in several different ways, how to copy, cut, duplicate and reorder slides after creation.|
|Many beautiful themes are built in Keynote. You can also create your own themes. In this lesson I will show how you can change one theme to another, apply new theme to one slide or to the whole presentation.|
|Slide Groups allow you logically organize parts of your slide. You can create groups as well as subgroups. In this lesson I will show you how to create groups, how to expand, collapse them, skip slides or entire groups.|
|Section 4: Understanding Master Slides|
All Slides in your presentation must have Master Slides applied to them. They are built in each Theme and predefine layout of Title, Text, Images etc. on the slides. You will learn how to see Master Slides Panel and apply any master slide to your presentation which you wish.
|Main components of Master Slides are Title and Body objects. You will learn how to show or hide them on master slides, how to change their layout.|
|You can create new master slide in the same way as normal slide but can reuse it many times.|
|Media Placeholder on master slides can be used if you need to replace any template media file on master slide with any custom file such as Image or Video.|
|Object Placeholder can hold only one object which can't be replaced with another one, but it can hold anything you like - Chart, Table, Image, Video or something else and it always stays in the same place.|
|Section 5: Objects Alignment and Arranging|
|Alignment Guides and Rulers greatly simplify objects positioning.|
Guides at object edges can simplify process of object arrangement. With help of Relative Spacing you can be sure that distance between different objects or even pairs of objects is the same.
|It's important to know what is Stack of Objects and how move objects in the stack if some objects(images,text) in your presentation are hidden behind other objects.|
|Automatic Objects Alignment and Distribution allows you quickly place objects in needer order.|
|You can group different objects in the group and then perform different actions such as resize, move, rotate with the group as with one objects.|
|Section 6: Working with Text|
|With help of Body Text Objects you can easily insert and edit any text.|
|On each slide you can create as many Free Text Objects as you wish. Body Object on each slide can be only one. But Free Text Objects have some limitations in comparison with Body Objects.|
|Text in Shapes is a good option for presenting readable data in your presentation.|
|Section 7: Adding and Formatting Shapes|
|In a couple of clicks you can easily create different shapes: lines, rectangles, circles, triangles, arrows, starts and polygons.|
Custom shapes can be easily created and edited with help of Shapes Pen Item.
You can add stroke, image fill, shadow, opacity and some other features to any shape.
|Section 8: Working with Images and Video|
|Mask is a great tool which can be applied to any image. You can apply rectangle mask or mask created from the shape.|
|With help of Instant Alpha tool you can quickly remove any unneeded parts of the image.|
|Keynote has many useful Image Adjustment tools and you don't need to use any external image editor.|
