This time we feature the flow portion of the 5-Ss that will help to create and sustain strength. Using our bodies in this way, we can get deeper into the somatics and can definitely help with stress relief!
A few words before you practice along with me. If you do not have a regular practice, please remember that rest is an important element. If your body is asking for rest during the practice, the advanced option is to take rest! There are no points awarded for your practice, so don't think that you're doing well or poorly. If you are doing enough but not too much for yourself, you are getting what you need from the practice.
If you have a yoga block handy, place it next to your mat so that if you'd like the support, you can grab it easily. Any "housekeeping" that you may find necessary (rest, drink water, move your stuff around) is an important part of your practice. We aren't here to punish ourselves! This practice is designed to be nourishing, not depleting. Approach it as a gift to yourself and it will be more helpful to you in the long run.
This is a complete practice that you can do over and over again. Feel free to do so!
The perimenopausal/menopausal transition can be rough, but we can use some tools to make it go a little more smoothly using the 5-S Method:
Somatics
Stress Control
Strength
Sustainability, and
Sangha (community)
This course uses these accessible, practical tools in the forms of Breathwork, Somatic Movement, Yin and Vinyasa Flow Yoga, and Yoga Nidra to allow you to move through your perimenopausal or menopausal life transition a bit more easily. In the end, you can come through it more empowered and you will finally be your most vibrant self. Your transformation awaits!
So if you are suffering through symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, achy and painful joints, or any other perimenopausal symptoms, this course can help. Yoga is for everyone, so if you do not yet have a regular yoga practice it's no barrier to this course! Begin at the beginning, and allow your practice to develop as you become more familiar with the 5-S Method and its tools.
Menopause presents both physical and mental challenges, and the tools of the 5-S Method address both of these. Balance, peace, and resilience are the result, giving you a sense of vitality and confidence that you might not have expected!
