In this introduction video we'll review why Yoga is particularly helpful on the fertility journey. Yoga is an ancient and sacred practice that has real life applications for modern women. And one concern affecting many modern women is a difficult fertility journey. Yoga is uniquely qualified to help prepare and ready the womb for conception by removing stress from the body, and re-focusing the mind on the Truth of who you are - special, loved, whole, and a radiant woman who is MORE THAN ENOUGH.
We'll also review what prompted the creation of this video and a little bit about the instructor's background with Yoga and Fertility.
We will review all of the special precautions that are taken in this video. Women who are on the fertility journey or going through fertility treatment (IVF, IUI) need to take special care of their midsections. Certain physical postures are not healthy or beneficial for conception and can jeopardize treatment and are avoided in this practice. We will review all of these "no-no's" as well as all of the movements used in the 1 hour video (Lecture 6) that are helpful for creating a welcoming environment in the womb.
In this video we will cover all the equipment needed for this class. You can bring as much as you'd like (yoga mat, blocks, pillows, blankets), or nothing at all - just yourself!
Yogic breathing is one of the most powerful ways we can restore calm and balance to hearts and bodies that are full of worry and stress. One particular Yogic breath, or Pranayama, is called Dirga Pranayama. It is a 3-part breath that specifically targets all areas of the diaphragm. In doing so, we bring fresh oxygen specifically to places like the belly, which might not get a ton of air circulation due to shallow breathing. Deep rhythmic breaths restore the nervous system, balance hormones, and give a deep sense of confidence and courage. If you do only ONE thing on this fertility journey, do this breathing exercise!
Mudras are sacred placements of the hands and fingers that focus the mind, and directs subtle energy inside to an intentional goal. Indian Yogis, Chinese reflexologists, and Reiki masters have long known about the power of the hands to create a single focus and stability of heart.
In this video you will learn all about these symbolic Mudras, particularly Ganesha Mudra, which is the Remover of Obstacles. It is also a Mudra for protection and building internal strength. Ganesha Mudra's specific intention is to clear the path before you, and inside of you, to bring about a something that is deeply desired. It creates a special courage that's hard to cultivate in other ways.
We will be utilizing Ganesha Mudra in Lecture 6, the 1-hour practice, so we will learn and practice how to do it in this video 1st!
Everything you have learned from Lectures 1-5 has prepared you for this full, 1-hour, Yoga for IVF & Fertility practice. This sweet meditative Yogic experience will take you through gentle postures that relax the body and release any stress from the heart. The Breathing exercise and Mudra will help you focus the mind on the unwavering Truth of who you are as a woman, separate from any family planning. There is a positive affirmation at the end to lift the spirit and soothe the heart.
You will come out of this practice feeling calmer, more confident, and fully knowing your worth!
This is a bonus hands-on lecture that teaches how crucial our thoughts about ourselves are, as well as the stories we believe about our fertility. We will do an exercise writing out Self-Affirmations that are special and specific to YOU and then review how to incorporate affirmations into a thought management practice where we intentionally replace negative thought patterns with positive TRUTH's (affirmations) that build internal strengths and reserves.
Print off the first handout - "My Self-Affirmation List" since we'll be using it in this practice. You can access, "Sample Affirmations" for ideas to get you started. Also print out the last handout - "My Self-Affirmation Tracker" and put it up in your bathroom so you can keep track of your affirmations each day! The other handouts can also be printed off or simply viewed online.
This is another bonus hands-on lecture that teaches self-soothing techniques that are very specific to YOU, that help restore and bring yourself back to YOU. A self-soothing technique is that "thing", that when you're doing it, you feel a deep sense of confidence and accomplishment. It's the thing that makes you feel really great about yourself. It can be something creative like writing, or walking in the woods, or knitting. Only you know what refills your cup at the end of the day. And we need to be doing that "thing" everyday to build up internal stockpiles of resources that we can draw on whenever life gets tough. In this exercise, we will discover what your thing, or things are, and then form an intention to do one of them everyday, no matter how small!
Print off the first handout - "Self Soothing Tools" since we'll be using it in this practice. You can access, "Sample Self-Soothing" for ideas to get you started. Also print out the last handout - "My Self-Soothing Tracker" and put it up in your bathroom so you can keep track of your affirmations each day! The other handouts can also be printed off or simply viewed online.
Have you ever wanted to lie down, wrap a warm blanket around yourself, and relax listening to a meditation specifically for women on the fertility journey. This meditation was developed by someone who intimately knows what needs be heard and felt during this time. We will be giving ourselves the sweetest womb massage, chanting a Peace Mantra, and listening to the most comforting affirmation for the womb. We will then intentionally use our hands to bring acceptance and love to all parts of the body.
Sending you all so much love and peace as you walk this path to your baby. It was a true honor to lead and guide you through sacred Yogic practices that have weathered the storm of history in order to help YOU. I hope you take these tools and continue to use them each day. Remember - we deplete our energy and resources each day through both small and large life events. It is in our utmost interest to replenish those lost resources everyday through our breathing....or through affirmations....or by simply lying down and listening to the Fertility Meditation. They all help! And bring back confidence and healing to the soul and womb.

The most powerful gift a woman can offer herself on the winding path of fertility is a practice that steadies her and holds her softly through the rises and falls that IVF and IUI so often bring. Many of us imagined our journey to motherhood would be brief, only to learn that this path asks for patience, surrender, and a deep well of faith.
In the waiting, we need rituals that nourish us. We need something that restores what the process takes.
I know this intimately. I spent years inside the world of fertility treatment—years marked by physical ache, emotional unraveling, and the quiet courage of trying again. Yoga became the place where I could breathe, where I could return to myself after every shot, every surgery, every result, every phone call that shifted my world. I’m grateful that long before I knew the word “infertility,” I had already become a yoga teacher, already carrying these sacred practices that would one day carry me.
And after all that waiting, my beautiful son arrived in 2021.
