Write 4 a Day started as a set of techniques to kick the brain into a creative gear. Later it became a series of one-day writing retreats. Even if you can't spare a whole day to write, these techniques can help you get writing.

  • Tools4:39

Before we get to the exercises, here's a pitch for doing them with -- gasp! -- a pen and paper and not your computer.

Requirements

  • No experience needed except a desire to write more.

Description

This free course was developed from techniques I used to get my sometimes-reluctant brain kickstarted on days when I didn't really feel like writing. These are simple things anyone can do. But they are effective techniques to get the synapses firing and the words flowing. If you find it hard to get started writing, this course may help you. It has NOT been developed using AI!

Write more. Write consistently. Write with facility. Write with inspiration Write yourself into new habits.

If you have to take a lot of time between writing sessions, sometimes the manuscript can get 'cold' so to speak. Rather than waste your time dithering, jump right in with Write 4 a Day and warm the project up again.

Most of us have busy lives: we work a job (or two). We have obligations to friends and families. Even if we're drawn to writing as a creative pursuit, finding time to do it can be a challenge. And when we do find the time, sometimes it can be a challenge to dive in. It's easy to get discouraged. It's easy to turn to mindless entertainments instead. But there is no pleasure like writing and getting your thoughts out of your head and onto the page. It gives you such a sense of accomplishment. Creating is what we are meant to do.

Try Write 4 a Day and see if you don't find it much easier to get writing!

Who this course is for:

  • Writers who find it hard to get started when they find time to write.
