Description

This course is an opportunity to provide you with the knowledge about the Earned Value Management system, successfully used in the planning and control of small, big, and complex projects. The EVM use will give you more control with less effort and stress. It's a simple and objective methodology that will make you and the project team aware of the variances to the project baseline.

Understand how EVM works in a fast way, know the formulas, indices, variations, and estimates that will show you the status of your projects.

The first part of the course will discuss the EVM basis: control scope, cost, and time, building a good WBS with a solid dictionary, associating the WBS with OBS to create accountability, creating cost accounts linked to the WBS, creating a good baseline, and tips to facilitate the implementation in your company.

The second part of the course will utilize Excel, where a small project has been created to track progress and calculate all indexes, variations, and estimates, which will provide valuable insights into the current project situation.

After this course, you will know how to analyse the project numbers and graphs, identify where problems are occurring, and provide the Project Manager with useful information to keep the project on track as planned.

Who this course is for:

  • Planners and Project Managers interested in using EVM to plan and control projects.
