Description

Playing golf is a fun activity and a pastime that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. But many beginning golfers find that starting out on the course is daunting and a little intimidating, and it is true that our practice on the driving range does not always translate well out on the course!

This course before the course is designed to help golfers of all ages navigate the challenges of acting appropriately in an active golf course setting. The material covers proper manners and etiquette as well as practical tips on how to appropriately use the resources on the course to ensure a timely and entertaining round for all. At the end the course also introduces budding golf enthusiasts to the particulars of the rules of golf and how to learn more.

This course is instructed by a coach with experience teaching a wide range of adults and kids. The points emphasized in the following lectures reflect areas of difficulty for some golfers to grasp when facing an on-course environment for the first time, and instruction is designed to make those areas clearer before a golfer ever arrives on the golf course and tees off. These takeaways are especially designed to support the development of life skills and ways of thinking to succeed on and off the course as is consistent with the mission of well-known youth development programs like The First Tee.

With these concepts in mind, there is no doubt that golfers of all experience levels can take advantage of what the course has to offer and begin to enjoy the game in earnest!

Who this course is for:

  • Beginners (adults and children) wanting to take up golf and have fun!
