Welcome to The Fundamentals of Social Media Marketing - a course that has been custom designed to help you get the most out of your social media marketing efforts.
We are sure that you understand that social media is an extremely important aspect of the overall marketing function of an organization such as yours. Social media is the grease that helps the marketing cogs work harder and faster. Not only is it cost effective, but is is just plain effective!
Having a fully developed social media strategy will help you engage your audience in a real way, evoking reactions that are both emotional and lasting. So whether your goal for using social media is to increase sales, foot traffic or maybe even to promote an upcoming event - we will explain all of the steps that you need to take to get there!
How This Course Works
The Fundamentals of Social Media Marketing course has been designed to not only fit your busy schedule but to also help you learn at your pace.
The online portion of the course will be delivered via two essential methods: a range of cutting-edge tutorial videos and the companion workbook.
Both the online course and the workbook have been broken into 5 separate sections. Each section will then be broken down into sub-sections. This allows us to group concepts and ideas together, so that if you ever need to go back and review any section, it will be easy to locate.
The course also contains two different types of videos: face-to-face and presentations. This mixture will allow us to seamlessly move through the course, putting you in control of your pace of learning. As you know, all of the information you will need is housed in this course portal and all of the links that you need to navigate to can be found here: VIDEOS and RESOURCES.
So, what are you going to need on our journey to social media success? For starters you will need a computer, smartphone or tablet with an internet connection. We also urge you to have a notepad and a pen to take notes. While some students prefer to work with typed notes, going back to our roots helps us think and plan in such a way that we are able to better think through the content as it comes.
Finally, you will need the workbook, The Fundamentals of Social Media Marketing Workbook that can be found here in the course portal. The workbook is a fundamental part of this course that will allow you to workshop ideas, keep notes to correspond to the video portion and to also have a reference after you’ve completed the course. There are also section quizzes and exercises that will keep you on track and understanding the information that has been presented. Completing all of these are imperative to your success in not only getting the most out of your time this course, but also in being able to handle the responsibility of being a successful social media strategist for your organization.
