In this video we explain the Stimulus > Belief > Response model, and it's implications for how we manage ourselves and live our lives. 3 mins.
In this video we share the transformational role of imagination in changing our beliefs, feelings, and behaviors. 6 mins.
Don't be intimidated by how impossible it may seem to adopt your new beliefs. In this video you will learn scientifically based methods to do just that. 7 mins.
In this video we illustrate how we choose the emotions we feel because we think that is the best way to take care of ourselves. 2 mins
In this example, we see how a woman realized that she was choosing feel overwhelmed in a situation in order to take care of herself. This realization led to a decision to take care of herself in a more effective manner.
We also touch on some of the key elements of being an empowered person. 2.5 mins.
Judging and accusing ourselves is another example of using emotions to help us get what we want. This video illustrates that and shows how accusation is much less effective than acceptance. 4.5 mins.
This video shares how we can use discouragement to protect ourselves from pressing on and risking more failure. However, if we redefine failure and success, we can be encouraged to press on.
For example, one can interpret not getting an offer as situational instead of personal. They wanted someone else for whatever reason.
Or instead of defining success as getting an offer, we can consider learning from the experience as a victory.
Even if we realize we might not be qualified yet for the type of role we were hoping to get, that's a win! Now we can pivot and move forward more effectively. 1 min
In this video, we reiterate the premise that we choose our emotions as a way to take care of ourselves. We also point to the next section, which will share how forgiving others is foundational to freeing ourselves from self-accusation and judgment.
This video is a quick introduction to the topic and explains how forgiveness is related to interviewing well. 1.5 mins
This video submits the "forgiveness boomerang" premise that the extent to which we forgive others is also the extent to which we forgive ourselves. It also relates the staggering benefits of forgiving others. 3 mins
One block we can have to forgiving others is believing that forgiving means we have to trust them. Not so! Forgiveness is given. Trust is earned. 30 secs.
Sometimes we hold onto bitterness as a way to affirm that what we suffered mattered. However, we can acknowledge that it mattered without eating up our hearts with bitterness. 1.5 mins
We might think that unforgiveness keeps us safe and that forgiveness would leave us weak and vulnerable. Fortunately, we don't have to wreck our hearts with bitterness to stay safe. 1 min
Insisting on getting an apology in order to forgive keeps you a victim of the person who hurt you. 1 min
Don't let wanting to think you're better than someone else keep your heart locked in bitterness. 1.5 min
Forgiveness is a choice we make from the heart, not a feeling. We choose not to hold something someone did against us, regardless of how we feel about them. If we wait until we feel good towards them, we may forgive. But if we make the choice not to hold what they did against them, over time our feelings will change. 3 mins.
Sometimes it seems that acting with integrity is what we do in order to protect other people. While this is true, it's important to realize that acting with integrity primarily protects ourselves from outcomes that are destructive to us.
This video explores this dynamic; shares research on the impact of integrity on our mental and physical health, relationships, and careers; and shares two experiences where a lack of integrity led to disastrous consequences. 6 mins
Most interview classes teach you best practices. This course does that and more.
First, it provides uncommon insight about answering common interview questions and behavioral-based questions.
Second, it gives you access to the AI Interview Coach for three months.
Open the platform, flip on your webcam, and practice answering interview questions. You'll get immediate feedback on what you said and how you said it. How clear, concise and well-structured were your answers? Were you confident? Engaging? Monotonous? Not only will you get feedback on how you can across, but you'll get specific instructions on how to do better.
Also, how many times did you say filler words like "um" and "uh?" Were you speaking too fast or too slow? How much did you vary your pace? How well did you use pauses? How was your eye contact?
This AI program has been taught by input from thousands of speech coaches. By practicing and getting their feedback, you will quickly and significantly improve how well you come across. This in turn will develop your confidence. All in a risk-free, judgment free, on-demand environment.
Third, it furnishes scientifically based tools and inspiring stories that you can use to shift from feeling anxious about interviewing to being ignited by hope and powered by joy. Hope and joy feel better and are better for our mental health, physical health, relationships, and performance. These tools come from resources such as Learned Optimism by Dr. Martin Seligman, the Stimulus > Belief > Response model developed by The Option Institute (which is congruent with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy research), The 21 Day Brain Detox by Dr. Caroline Leaf, Coherence Therapy, and The Wounded Heart by Dr. Marcus Warner.
This course will enable you to level up in ways others can't.
