Please start your Journal by describing to me who you are, what your dreams and goals are, why you do what you do, where you live and want to live, when you are going to make a big change in your life and what is holding you back. Finally I want to know how you will fulfill dreams in 2022. I care and put students first.
In order to succeed in academics and organizations, it is important to provide evidence, present effectively and entertain your audience. I require students to practice doing, because without doing, there is little learning. Your task is to Journal complete with images, you tube links and provide examples of the "Gold Nugget" ideas that resonate with you and how you can incorporate these ideas into your personal, professional and academic life to improve your outcomes. I will assess your journal after each entry you make to guide you and assess you from the position of a discriminating audience who has much choice to prefer the individual/team that provides the most convincing value proposition to want to be associated with. Practicing this is very important as you may be surprised what the research shows about the behaviour of most organizational audiences.

In this session, I would like to see your journal get populated with examples of high performance cultures like Starbucks, Apple, Southwest Airlines, the New England Patriots and at least one example from an organization in a field which you currently work in or want to work in. By you taking this research and explanation step, you will open up doors into identifying what kind of goals and aspirations you may develop to drive new decisions. Improvement comes from change not from merely hoping.
In a world that avoids pain and seeks pleasure, it is important to reframe our understanding of uncomfortableness as the training ground for opportunity. If we embrace challenge, we have little competition because so many don't want to be comfortable with the uncomfortable. In this part of your journal, I would like you to develop new affirmations to be grateful for all in life including the hard parts as necessary practice to be more resilient rather than seek comfort and complaining. I have enclosed a second video that gathers an incantation affirmation from Tony Robbins to reprogram my thought processes to be much more empowering rather than limiting. Complaining is the worst intention/affirmation you can adopt as it causes decisions to be fear based and disempowering.
In this module, I would like you to practice your storytelling skills. To use the power of story requires the following entries in your journal 1) set the stage for the audience by getting their attention effectively by expressing a vulnerability that the audience has in themselves. 2) introduce a struggle, villain, uncomfortability or challenge that needs to be fought, overcome, relieved or resolved. 3) Resolve and solve the problem or challenge. Your audience and me will assess your story on it's ability to 1) make an emotional connection 2) presented well in a short amount of effort to watch, see or read 3) has a credible amount of evidence to be realistic and practical. You can make your story VIRAL. I would like you to watch the link of what makes videos VIRAL and journal what you have learned from VIRAL videos that makes them resonate with so many people. It's no accident that most VIRAL videos are music videos - please explain in your journal entry what you notice that can impact your storytelling to resonate with a larger audience.
Whether we are talking about personal or professional relationships, we realize the need to nurture healthy and productive ones, yet they are a lot of work. This hard work is worth it, but we can easily sabatoge our success by not engaging in better and healthier thought processes. We all have automatic negative thoughts that we listen to and disempower us. We must choose different thoughts from a place of abundance and realize that if we put ourselves in the perspective of the other people we are communicating with, we will have a lot better chance to connect with them and they will ultimately know, like and trust us. We have to face the reality that we can't expect someone to know or care for us as much as we know or care for us. What I would like to see in your journal is a list of people you admire and despise and what qualities from each of their personality you can learn from and I will show you how to take those qualities and draw strength from them rather than complain about what they or you are missing from your personality.
Every module I teach, I teach about the magic of compound interest. If we don't teach this essential understanding, we won't realize until it's too late that all of our efforts in academia, work and personal challenge is wasted because we are not taught the reality of business which is about asset development, trading and the need to build intergenerational wealth to support family and loved ones. It's never about what we make or what we do. Our world is meant to give opportunity to anyone and everyone, yet it matters how we structure our financial affairs in order to bring value to the efforts we strive for, and understanding compund interest gives us understanding and wisdom for all areas of our lives. In your final journal entry, I would like you to demonstrate to me what you will think and do differently to use the skills you have acquired to collaborate more effectively with others and be a better leader, teacher, parent, employee, contributor to society. I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you.

I am not the smartest person in the room. My job is to draw out of each of you your authentic self that people see value in and want to pay for. This involves leading with vulnerability as audiences don't necessarily resonate with others who have it all figured out, but rather are intrigued by others who are like them: Full of aspirations and ability to want to achieve great things, but we often realize we find comfort in connecting with others who are having challenges and if they can overcome them or improve, this gives us hope for our lives and dreams. This journey involves journaling and unlearning automatic negative thought processes and scarcity mindsets which lead to damaging decision making which makes fight or flight decision responses rather than gratitude and appreciation responses. This course will inspire the move from scarcity and lack to abundance and possibility. From Fear to Faith and worry to ability.
