Ripe Puer tea is considered the result of accelerating the fermentation. There are good reasons why people are fond of ripe Puer tea; history indicates the mystery of its invention(birth).

Puer tea is crafted from large-leaf tea varieties and undergoes a post-fermentation process. Its quality evolves dynamically over time (often considered to improve with age). Only through this holistic approach we can gain a truly objective, dialectical, and comprehensive assessment.

In history, pu-erh tea gained its name most possibly because of pu'er city, and pu'er city gained its fame because of pu-erh tea, just like champagne. 

Among all the tea mountains, why do we individualize Jingmai Ancient Tea Mountains singly as a lesson（Lesson 19）, why? Because it's the only internationalized tea mountain. First, Jingmai Ancient Tea Mountain is a national key cultural relic protection unit; Second, Jingmai tea is historic tributed tea because of its rich aromas, soft body, sweet taste, and well-balanced flavors. The well-known saying that " Yiwu is the king and Jingmai is the queen" indicates its historical position. Last but most importantly, it's the only tea mountain listed tentatively in UNESCO heritage, and ready to succeed in 2022.
