Welcome to the introduction of the course Submitting a Winning Bid. In this intro video, I tell you what to expect from the course.
This video gives a brief overview of what public sector authorities buy and it’s almost everything.
From everyday essentials that keep offices and frontline teams running, stationery, laptops, printers, software licences, uniforms, PPE, catering, cleaning, security, waste and recycling to specialist services like training, call centres, interpreting, marketing, research and consultancy. Buyers include central government departments, the NHS, local authorities, police and fire services, schools and universities, arm’s-length bodies and more.
In this lecture we go over the new UK Public Contracts, Find A Tender Portal. Learn how to navigate the UK Government’s Find a Tender Service (FTS) , the official portal for above-threshold public procurement opportunities. Set up your supplier account so you never miss a bid. Learn to use the filters and much more. To view instructions on the new Central Digital Platform please refer 'How to Find UK Government Contracts' course. This lecture is an update to introduce the new UK Tender Portal. The UK procurement thresholds for 2026-2027 can be found in the resources section.

The Procurement-Specific Questionnaire (PSQ) collects selection information specific to a single procurement that isn’t already in your Central Digital Platform (CDP) profile. It’s separate from the ITT.
This lecture introduces you to the Invitation To Tender (ITT ) template used by many public authorities to request a proposal for outsourced services. Here you will find examples of the types of questions buyers may ask during a request for proposal (ITT).
Question 1- Here we look at model answers to ITT questions. Starting of with Question 1, we scrutinise the bid response and score the supplier. There are two sample answers provided, one is for a 'good' response, the other a 'poor' response. Join in the evaluation to get a unique perspective of how public authorities scrutinise your bid proposal.
Question 2 - In this lecture we continue to review and score the ITT bid proposal.
Question 3 : In this lecture we continue to evaluate ITT proposal responses
ITT Case Study: Here we look at previously published ITT to show you a real life example of ITT tender documents.
In this video, we look at an example of a cleaning contract to boost your understanding of ITTs.
