Course content

1 section15 lectures8h 55m total length
  • Introduction to Cad RC.47:33

Learn manual detailing of RC structural members with CAD RC in AutoCAD, including slabs, beams, columns, stairs, foundations, and bar bending schedules using BS 4449 and Eurocode templates.

  • Column Elevation38:59

Detail RC column elevations using CAD RC/RebarCAD in AutoCAD, detailing reinforcement with kickers, lap lengths, and starter bars for a 230×230 column with plan view alignment.

  • Column Section15:47

Detail the column cross section in CAD RC/RebarCAD, including 230 by 230 sections, link and rebar placement, with add view and range view for accurate labeling.

  • Pad/Spread Footing Plan14:58

Detail a pad footing plan in cad rc/rebarcad, including 40 mm cover, 150 spacing, and singly reinforced bottom bars labeled B1 and B2 for a 1230 by 1230 foundation.

  • Pad/Spread Footing Section10:35

Demonstrates detailing the pad/spread footing, from blinding and compacted sand fill to the 50 mm PCC blinding and reinforcement layout, including cover, offsets, and bar references.

  • Single Span Beam Detail19:58

Detail a one-span RC beam in BIM, including top and bottom rebar, spacing, cover, labeling, and shear links using AutoCAD RC detailing.

  • Continuous Beam33:55

Explore detailing a three-span continuous RC beam using CAD RC/RebarCAD, including bottom reinforcement, lap lengths, and critical points at supports and mid-spans for proper detailing.

  • Slab Detail 158:34

Detail a one-way slab in CAD RC/RebarCAD, outlining bottom and top bars, distribution bars, and labeling (B1, B2, T, Distar). Explain cantilever return lengths and spacing per design data.

  • Slab Detail 259:02

Detail a cantilever one-way slab with bottom reinforcement B2, 200 mm spacing, and offsets, including return bars and cantilever distribution; top reinforcement is deferred to the next episode.

  • Slab Detail 320:24

detail the distribution of return bars in slab cantilevers, distinguishing cantilever bottom bars from non cantilever top bars, and demonstrate range, offsets, and Y10 distribution with 250 spacing.

  • Slab Detail 41:28:30

Detail top reinforcement and its distribution in this slab detailing episode of structural drawing of RC members, using CAD RC/RebarCAD with 0.3 L center-to-center offsets.

  • Slab Detail 520:32

Learn slab detailing in RC/RebarCAD by adding 250 mm spaced distribution bars for top and bottom reinforcement, coordinating cantilever and beam reinforcement, with a section view next.

  • Slab Detail 623:15

Demonstrate slab detailing in CAD RebarCAD by creating section cuts, placing top and bottom reinforcement, and detailing laps, offsets, and ranges with precise alignment and annotations.

  • Straight Flight Stair1:07:58

Detail a straight flight stair in rc drawings, derive true length from the section, and compute the stair angle using tan, sin, and cos.

  • Bar bending Schedule15:27

Learn to create a bar bending schedule and bar bending shadow, build width tables, format bars, attach diagrams, and craft custom special bars in RebarCAD.

Requirements

  • No knowledge of structural detailing is needed. Student requires a laptop or desktop PC with CadRc installed in it.

Description

Structural detailing is also referred to as structural drawing. It is the drafting of the results obtained from structural design in a concise and accurate way in other to ensure perfect interpretation by whosoever has concern for the drawing. There are few notable softwares for carrying out Structural drawings both in 2D and 3D. Some of these softwares are standalone but most of them are Plugins to either AutoCAD or Revit. One of the leading softwares to carry out structural drawing is Cad RC. Cad RC is a plugin for AutoCAD that enables you to make a structural drawing of any form in 2D. This course is undoubtedly the best video you could take in order to learn how to prepare structural drawings. In this courses, you’ll learn how to detail the span and section of a single span beam, you’ll as well learn how to detail the span and section of a multiple span beams. Also, you’ll learn how to detail columns running across several storeys. One of the lessons you’ll learn also include the detailing of irregular slab, a spread footing and stairs. Lastly, you’ll learn how to prepare the bar bending schedule and also estimate the quantity of rebar required in tonnage.

Who this course is for:

  • Beginners in structural detailing of RC members.
  • Experts in structural detailing who wish to add one or two to their knowledge
