Recurring problems are rarely solved by treating symptoms. This practical toolkit course shows you how to structure a problem, investigate possible causes, test evidence and use recognised root-cause tools to identify corrective action.
You will learn when and how to use 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, Pareto analysis and the Cause-and-Effect Matrix. Each tool has a different purpose: some help a team explore possible causes, some reveal where the greatest effect occurs and others help prioritise causes using agreed criteria. The course explains how to choose the right tool rather than forcing every problem through the same method.
Practical demonstrations show how to prepare, populate and interpret each tool. Templates are included so that you can focus on the analysis and discussion rather than building documents from scratch. You will also learn how to involve relevant stakeholders, separate facts from assumptions and translate findings into actions that address the cause of the problem.
This toolkit course is focused on hands-on use of individual problem-solving tools. It complements the broader Root Cause Analysis certification, which provides a more extensive end-to-end treatment of the discipline.
