In this first session, I’ll explain why this 14-day program is nothing like the diets you’ve tried before. I’ll share how a powerful NHS project, and nearly four decades working with real people on the frontline led me to build this course.
You’ll find out why most diets fail, why quitting isn’t giving up, and what makes this approach so different.
There’s no nutrition advice, no food rules, and no exercise plans, just mindset techniques that have helped people through challenges far bigger than weight loss.
If you’ve ever dreamed of quitting diets forever but asked yourself, “What do I do instead?” you’re about to find out.
In this session, I take you deeper into the NHS obesity project that first inspired Quit Your Diet.
I was part of a team offering every kind of professional support - from nutrition and exercise to behavioural change. But what I discovered shocked me: the way we approach weight loss is often the opposite of how we support people through serious life challenges.
While I was applying proven techniques like Solution Focused Brief Therapy and NLP, the system kept circling back to diets, meal plans, and food diaries.
This section explores how I navigated that contradiction, why it opened my eyes, and how it shaped the foundation of this program.
If you’ve ever felt that dieting goes against your instincts, this might be the reason why.
In this session, I’ll share the seven key assumptions I make about every client I work with, and why adopting them for yourself can change everything.
These aren’t wishful thinking or positive affirmations. They’re powerful mindset tools designed to shift the way you speak to yourself and interact with the world. I’ll explain how our assumptions shape what we see, what we believe, and ultimately, what we do.
You’ll also hear a story that reveals just how quickly our perception of others (and ourselves) can change with one small detail.
These assumptions will become your lifeboat throughout the course, something to come back to whenever doubt creeps in.
And don’t worry, I’ve included a downloadable version to keep them close at hand.
In this session, I introduce you to a powerful idea I call ME-NA - your mental DNA.
It’s the unseen script running in the background of your life, shaping what you believe you can (or can’t) do.
Inspired by a quiet moment watching a Big Issue seller on the streets of Manchester, this thought experiment helped me understand where the real weight problem lives, and it’s not in your body.
I’ll show you how ME-NA quietly influences your risks, habits, and self-perception, and why reprogramming it may be the missing piece in your change journey.
It’s time to challenge the voice that’s been calling the shots for far too long.
In this session, I introduce you to one of the most revealing models I’ve ever worked with:
The Pyramid of Change.
Based on the powerful "Logical Levels of Change" framework, this thought model helped me finally understand why diets so often clash with our instincts and why surface-level actions like calorie counting or gym memberships rarely stick.
I’ll walk you through each layer of the pyramid, from environment and behaviour all the way up to identity and purpose, showing how real, lasting change happens when we act at a higher level than the problem itself.
"This simple idea can explain why some people transform effortlessly and others feel stuck, even when they’re doing all the “right” things."
If you’ve ever wondered why diets work for others but not for you, this might be the breakthrough you’ve been waiting for.
By the end of this session, you’ll see exactly where your own challenges sit, and what kind of intervention could shift you away from diets forever.
In this session, we take everything we’ve learned about the Pyramid of Change and apply it directly to your situation.
Instead of asking what your problem is, I’ll help you ask a more powerful question: where is your problem? That shift changes everything.
Together, we’ll explore how to pinpoint where your personal weight struggle sits on the pyramid, whether it’s external and behavioural or deeper in your beliefs, identity, or sense of purpose. I’ll also show you how common weight loss solutions stack up against this model, and why so many of them feel like a fight.
This isn’t about proving my QYD program works, it’s about helping you finally understand why previous efforts didn’t. Once you know where your challenge lives, you’ll know where change has to happen.
By the end of this session, you’ll be in a better position to make a real decision: stay on the same path, or follow a new one, one with a clear destination and no more diets.
In this session, I introduce you to the full roadmap for your 14-day journey toward diet freedom. This is about clear direction and powerful tools.
I’ll walk you through my MAP process:
M = Map your route before you go.
A = Align your skills and mindset so you’re ready.
P = Proceed with confidence toward D-Day—Diet Day—the day everything changes.
This session is about preparation, not pressure. There’s no rush.
You’ll learn why diets often fail, and what to do instead. This time, you’re quitting on purpose—with a plan, the right tools, and the mindset to match.
We’ll talk about how to recognise when you’re truly ready, how to trust your own process, and why you are always the expert of your own life.
I’ll also share a story about how a drunken man taught me to let go as a coach—and why your independence, not perfection, is the ultimate goal. Once you understand this roadmap, you’ll be ready to move forward with confidence. And in the next session, we’ll dive into the actual tools you’ll use to get there.
In this session, I walk you through the full range of tools you’ll be using to prepare for your 14-day transformation. These aren’t gimmicks—they’re practical, proven, and sometimes deceptively simple. Think of this as your personal toolbox for the journey ahead.
Some tools help you clarify your destination, others are there to support you along the way. But every single one needs to be practiced, not just read about. This is where your commitment matters. Try them. Test them. Build your own personal template. Because quitting your diet isn’t just about stopping something—it’s about replacing it with something better.
From mind-shifting techniques like the Miracle Question and the Farewell Letter, to daily strategies like Anchoring, Habit Hacking, and the Cookie Jar, these tools are your training ground. You’ll also get access to extra resources like Arrest Your Thoughts, the JOY Calendar, and a downloadable workbook to help you build your own 14-day plan.
Remember—don't just skim through. Get inside the tools, even the weird ones. Like I said before, they’re a bit like the TARDIS: bigger (and more powerful) on the inside.
In the next session, we’ll talk about D-Day—what makes it different, and how to wake up on that day with every part of you ready to move forward.
Before we head into the final step, this session gives you a full recap of the journey so far.
Together, we’ll revisit the MAP — your guide to lasting change — and take stock of the tools, mindset shifts, and discoveries you’ve made.
We’ll walk back through the Pyramid of Change, the 7 Assumptions, and the big ideas that helped you rethink dieting and understand where your real challenges live.
I’ll remind you how to align your mindset, use your toolkit, and most importantly, how to trust your own process.
This isn’t about pressure. It’s about clarity.
If you’ve been wondering how it all fits together, this is where the pieces lock into place. You’ll leave this session with the confidence to design your personal 14-day template, a plan that fits your life, your pace, and your power.
The adventure is about to begin. But first, let’s stop, look around, and take in how far you’ve already come.
In this session, we talk about D-Day
Your Diet Day - the moment you finally step away from food rules, calorie counting, and the exhausting cycle of starting over. I’ll share how a lesson from beekeeping helped me understand how change really works, and why disrupting your routine on D-Day is a powerful way to trigger your brain into recognising something important: you’ve changed.
I’ll guide you through why D-Day matters, how to plan for it, and what to expect in the days that follow, what I call VE Days: Victory and Empowerment.
You’ll also hear how a tip from a dog trainer taught me something profound about human change, and why I believe you can do this, not because I’m a motivator, but because I know we’re all wired the same way.
I’ll even share a rewritten version of the anonymous robot poem we started this course with, now updated to reflect the journey you’ve been on.
This session wraps up everything we've explored with one clear message: you’re ready. You’ve done the work, practiced the tools, and now it’s time to take action.
You don’t need motivation, you need momentum. And that starts now.
A 14-day mindset reset to help you walk away from dieting forever.
In work, relationships, family, even in business, you get things done. You’re organised. You take responsibility. You succeed.
But there’s this one area that never seems to match the rest:
Your relationship with food and diets
The constant mental chatter about what you should or shouldn’t be eating.
It rubs against the grain.
You’ve tried the plans, the counting, the rules, the “lifestyle changes.” But somehow, the freedom you have in the rest of your life doesn’t exist here.
That’s where Quit Your Diet: Think to Shrink might be for you.
This isn’t another food plan or weight loss program. It’s a mindset-first approach designed to help you finally understand why things haven’t clicked, and what to do instead.
Based on the book of the same name, this course was created by a talk therapist with decades of experience, including work in an NHS-funded project supporting the morbidly obese.
The result?
A clear, proven path to help you stop obsessing over food and start thinking like someone who no longer needs a diet to feel in control.
