Welcome to the Psychedelic-Assisted Trauma Therapy Program
Explore the re-emerging and unique field of Psychedelic Assisted Therapy where Eastern and Western medicine have coalesced. Psychedelic research has opened the floodgates for new understandings of consciousness, healing, the brain, and trauma. This program provides an overview of the history, risks, benefits, integrative therapy, research, types, and protocols for the safe use of psychedelic medicine.
Capture the ineffable aspects of your psychedelic experience, first by becoming centered (using a square breathing technique) and next by allowing colors, shapes, and textures to come forward in a simple drawing with fluid art materials.
Create a Mandala and invite images and symbols to emerge into this holding shape. Translate and deepen the connection with the images through movement.
Find an engaged and affirming witness to hold space for you while you tell the story of your experience. If yours was a difficult or challenging experience, utilize bilateral art therapy to regulate while sharing your story.
Identify and explore different parts that presented themselves in your story (also known as internal family systems), and get to know them better: Befriend them and engage them in a dialog.
Make a bridge drawing; reflect on it and situate yourself in it. Consider how your psychedelic experience fits into your life as a whole.
Notice shifts and changes in waking life, and also capture images and insights arising in your dreams if you can. Create a collage to document your psychedelic experience as an anchor to look back to.
Create a sociogram, taking stock of the important influences in your life. Reflect upon how these relationships can continue to support your integration.
This trauma healing session uses yoga movement and breath in order to integrate the experience of a psychedelic journey and create a safe space for any shits in perspective or in the self.
Create a symbolic circle with drawings of seeds inside, accompanied by repetitive movements and gentle touch to reinforce feelings of support when stressful situations may arise.
An introduction to psychedelic research, from pioneer in the field, Dr. David Nutt.
Explore how psychedelics such as Ketamine can be used under supervision in clinical practice.
Therapists create a safe, trustful space for psychedelic-assisted therapy, focusing on set and setting, preparation, intentions, and integrated care with mindfulness, nature cues, and eye mask.
Explore how trauma can be seen as initiation, healed with psychedelics, and braided with sacred traditions. Therapists guide set and setting, preparation, and integration, including psilocybin and microdosing.
