Description

We all have interesting objects to paint at home! Discover the secrets of painting realistic still lives with acrylics and acrylic gouache! The course is aimed at beginner and intermediate painters.

Acrylics are the most versatile and innovative colours: they can be diluted to obtain transparent glazes as in watercolour or used in impasto as in oil painting. They are opaque, dry quickly and allow for corrections and revisions. Moreover, once dry, they become perfectly waterproof. This allows you to paint safely, layer upon layer, keeping colours bright and always clean. All these characteristics make acrylics the best medium for learning to paint and an excellent introduction to all major painting techniques.

In the first lesson I'll show you the different types of acrylic colours. You will learn the differences between regular acrylics and the new acrylic gouaches that allow you to have the advantages of acrylics and gouaches in one fantastic product. I will also show you which mediums and additives are most commonly used in acrylic painting.

In the second lesson you'll discover which brushes to use and the various types of palettes you can find on the market. I'll also explain how to make a super practical and inexpensive palette that cleans up in 30 seconds!

In lesson three I'll explain which supports to use in acrylic painting and show you the complete procedure for preparing the support with primer.

In the fourth lesson I will teach you the quick techniques used by professionals to transfer the drawing onto the final support.

In addition to the four introductory lessons, the course includes seven practical demonstrations complete with commentary and subtitles.
