  • What are Learning Disabilities?2:39

Learning disabilities are neurologically-based processing problems. These processing problems can interfere with learning basic skills such as reading, writing and/or math. They can also interfere with higher level skills such as organization, time planning, abstract reasoning, long or short term memory and attention. It is important to realize that learning disabilities can affect an individual’s life beyond academics and can impact relationships with family, friends and in the workplace.
Generally speaking, people with learning disabilities are of average or above average intelligence.
Learning disabilities should not be confused with learning problems which are primarily the result of visual, hearing, or motor handicaps; of intellectual disability; of emotional disturbance; or of environmental, cultural or economic disadvantages.Brief definition and description of LD

Description

"Imagine your delight when you start experiencing palpable improvements in learning outcomes of your LD child and your joy when she/he becomes a real life achiever"

In this course I will help you develop a conceptual understanding of Learning Difficulties/Challenges/Disabilities (LD) faced by children, as is seen by the common world. Then you will learn why these children are not exactly learning disabled but merely wired to Learn Differently. I will  introduce you to the interesting World of "Teaching Differently (TD)" so that you can help your child optimise his/her learning outcomes and possibly identify and nurture his/her natural talent.

As a parent or teacher you can become your child's coach and help the child become real life achiever. The course is delivered in the most simplistic manner for any concerned parent or teacher to comprehend the nuances of LD.  The course explains different categories of LD like Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Cognitive Challenges, etc and more importantly how to identify symptoms of these in your child. Most importantly, you will learn some "Teaching Differently" strategies to help your child "Learn Differently".

This course is really beneficial for you if you are (A) a parent concerned about your child's learning outcomes, (B) a teacher dealing with slow learners in class (C) an aspiring or practicing remedial educator (D) anyone dealing with children reluctant to learn.

You can choose to help your child bloom or even earn a reasonable income by becoming a successful  Teaching Differently Specialist  or LD Remedial Coach by joining my advance course on Effective Strategies  for Teaching Differently (ESTeD).  You may join the advanced course directly.
