
I am excited to teach you all the Tips & Tricks that I have learned. Let's get our files ready by downloading the Zip file called ''Recipe Exercise InDesign Folder.zip''. Download it and place it somewhere easily accessible. Double click on Zip to expand into folder to access files inside.
Make sure you have Adobe InDesign installed and ready to go!
We will start by setting up our Document accordingly with guides, Margins and Bleed which will be the skeleton or wireframe for our gorgeous Recipe Card.
I will show you a few trick and shortcuts and how to set up guides which will create slots of our graphics to be easily placed in.
We will place our shapes perfectly in our allocated slots. will be a piece of cake thanks to our guides.
We will be introduced to Gridify which is a Grid made out of images. Best practice for placing and resizing images using the Automatic Fitting Options and the Properties Panel.
We will learn how to change fonts, font size, weight, space after, aligning and much more.
I have pre-prepared all the text content we will need for creating Paragraph Styles so you do not have to waste time and write it all down. The text is all available in that InDesign document- Please open it up and follow me.
We will finally be introduced to Paragraph Styles and Character Styles which will make your whole InDesign experience with text much smoother. They are essentially Templates but for text to ensure Consistency and saving time!
And now for the fun part! Applying the Styles- Most satisfying thing :) enjoy!
And finally we will learn all the best practices for saving our document in appropriate format pdf for printing, an editable working file and pdf for web.
