LEAN- Production and Operations Management

This course is focused towards telling the audience about the basic building blocks of Production, operations, Lean managements and how this ties to effective management of working capital for the organization. Practical applications and growth of the production processes and application of lean forms the basis of this course. With this course you will understand how lean has been applied to the production processes in an organization and the focus of the growth of working capital in organization for the benefit of all. With the change in Production practices from Job to Batch to Flow processes, it was critical to continuously evolve and use the resources in an effective and efficient manner - With this course I am trying to paint this storyline of how production processes evolved and how as a student or working professional, we need to inculcate this in our day to day practices. At the end of this course, i intend the students to understand the meaning of Production, Operation, Service Industry, Lean management, Working capital, and practical applications of these in any organization - IT, Software, Fast moving consumer goods, Pharmaceuticals, Services. This is the first in the series of courses. This course will form the base of all the basic definitions and understandings.
