Begin with the work, not a tool. Use the fictional Norvik case to distinguish a sponsor’s AI mandate from an evidenced diagnosis, identify the people and process behind late orders, and write the first question worth investigating.
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
Most AI programmes do not fail on the technology. They fail on processes nobody has mapped, data nobody owns, controls nobody can enforce and plans nobody can defend in front of a board. This course teaches a method that avoids those failures, one instrument at a time.
This is training, not a reading of the book. Every lesson takes one idea and teaches it slowly:
a plain definition, with a test you can carry into your next meeting
an everyday analogy, so the idea sticks
a worked example from Norvik, a fictional Nordic home-furnishings retailer
the mistakes people commonly make, and how to spot them
a practice decision, with time to pause and think before the answer
the same idea applied in a second, different industry
an exercise you apply to your own organisation, with a self-check
Over twelve modules and sixty lessons you build a complete, defensible plan for your first 90 days: an honest readiness diagnosis, a first capability chosen for the right reasons, a target state and its investment case, a governed architecture, a deployment gate, a delivery rhythm, a path from internal use to wider reach, a people plan, and the measures that show whether any of it worked. The final module asks you to defend that plan the way a sceptical board would test it, and to revise it when the evidence changes.
You will get a workbook, knowledge checks for every module and a capstone evidence packet. The book AI Don't Fix Stupidity is included as a companion resource for the lessons it underpins.
Norvik, its people and every Norvik number are invented for teaching. They show the method working. They are not a promise of what AI will deliver for you. Take the method, not the numbers.
How this course was made: the instructor wrote the book it is built on and set the teaching standard every lesson follows. The narration is an AI voice made from the instructor's own voice, with his authorisation. Lesson scripts and slides were produced with AI assistance, and the slides reuse figures from the printed book.
