Description

Learn and understand Kaizen, start practicing Kaizen, then teach Kaizen to others and become a Lean guru. The course takes you through the whole gamut of Kaizen.

In section 1, you understand the Kaizen basics and the benefits which accrue to the organization which practice Kaizen. The 15 ground rules which should be remembered and followed religiously to make  kaizen implementation a success in any organization are detailed out.

In section 2, the concept of waste in manufacturing in the true sense is explained in an easy to understand manner. The 3M's of waste ie Muda, Mura and Muri are explained in detail with examples from industry. The 8 wastes are listed out. An acronym is also provided to remember the 8 wastes. Examples from industry of Muda, Mura and Muri is explained in an easy to understand animation.

In section3, Types of Kaizen like kaizen tein , kaizen events, kaikaku and kakushin are explained in detail. the section also takes you through the steps to organize a Kaizen event in your organization. The section deals with the Kaizen toolset . the tools required to be used during Kaizen workshops to diagnose and analyse root cause , challenges, issues, problems and work out their solutions. Tools like Gemba kaizen PDCA, 5Whys and 5S are explained in detail and in an easy to understand manner. You are made aware of the mindset required for Kaizen, so that candidates for Kaizen implementation are properly identified. Those candidates who do not possess the mindset for Kaizen are mentored to change their mindset to a positive one.

section 4 is totally dedicated to KAIZEN FOR YOU.  Kaizen examples are taught through animated drawings so that they remain etched in the student's mind. The section runs you through the implementation steps for introducing Kaizen in your own organization after you have finished this course.

Section 5 explains with examples  the 7 QC tools which are a must for problem solving and process improvement.  After all the 7 lectures in this section are viewed by the student, the 7 QC tools and their application will get embedded in his mind and he will be able to apply them in day to day work for problem solving and process improvement.

Section 6 talks about the concept of value addition, non value addition and business value addition. An example is provided to understand and clarify the concept. A brief business approach is proposed to reduce non value added activities in the organizations process flow. This section will help the student in identifying the Value added and non Value added activities in the process flow and work towards increasing the effectiveness /reducing the cycle time of the process , leading to increased profitability for the organization.
