Identify your areas of interest and target industries, then find companies and roles that fit your experience and transferable skills to craft a realistic game plan through pros and cons.
Apply to relevant roles that fit your experience, avoid aspirational jobs, and recognize the job search isn't always fair; it's a numbers game, but each step grows your skills.
Discover how technology reshapes resumes, from online applications to ATS screening, and learn to optimize format, keywords, and job titles to boost your digital footprint.
Tailor your resume to the job description by matching keywords, titles, and bullets to pass ATS screening and secure a phone interview.
Quantify your impact with numbers tied to revenue to show how you created value. Insert relevant keywords by analyzing job descriptions and ensure they flow naturally; spell check for errors.
Treat applying as a numbers game by submitting more applications to more companies to boost opportunities. Set daily targets (20–50), schedule focused time blocks, and prioritize the job search.
Explore how to apply efficiently by leveraging referrals, career sites, and major and niche job boards, cast a wide net, and maintain a consistent, organized application trail across platforms.
Upload multiple resumes to major job-board resume databases to boost visibility for passive talent, attracting recruiters who proactively reach out, while you stay organized and focused.
Expand your career opportunities by leveraging networking and LinkedIn, because referrals boost your chances in unfair hiring processes and help you get a foot in the door through stronger connections.
Leverage LinkedIn as a professional networking tool and elevator pitch that mirrors your resume, connect with recruiters, and pursue targeted informational interviews.
Learn targeted LinkedIn messaging strategies to efficiently advance your job search by applying first, selecting top companies, and crafting purposeful messages to recruiters for referrals and informational interviews.
discover practical LinkedIn messaging templates to connect with recruiters and hiring managers, craft concise messages, and leverage an updated profile to accelerate your job search.
control your environment for the phone interview, keeping prep materials, a resume, and notes ready to gain every advantage.
Prepare for the phone interview by studying the job description and your resume, connect your experience to key responsibilities, and practice concise, polite answers while researching the company and interviewer.
Practice like it's real for phone interviews by rehearsing all question types, connecting answers to the job description, and simulating your environment and device, including your tone and smile.
Prepare for phone and in-person interviews by scripting answers to common questions like tell me about yourself, why you fit, and strengths, while aligning your resume with the job description.
Avoid common phone interview mistakes such as not answering calls, overexplaining, or rambling; the lecture emphasizes preparation, direct answers, and strategic questions to move the job search forward.
Learn how to close a phone interview effectively by uncovering hesitations, clarifying next steps and timelines, and avoiding hard closes to improve your candidacy.
Identify recruitment team members, recruiters, human resources managers, and sourcers, who build pipelines and match the job description to your resume; ask about timeline, culture, and hiring manager.
Identify the hiring manager as the decision maker who assesses fit and potential impact. Ask targeted questions about day-to-day work, learning curve, and team culture to align with their priorities.
Prepare for the in-person interview by understanding the hiring manager's perspective, showcasing qualification and potential impact, while delivering strong behavioral based responses, energy, and cultural fit.
Practice for the in-person interview reduces nerves by studying your resume and job description, then master common and behavioral questions with the star method, chameleon stories, and a one-sheet.
Create an interview one sheet as a personal cheat sheet you reference for confidence and recall. Include key characteristics, responsibilities, and chameleon stories to tailor your answers to the job.
Learn to use the chameleon story for behavioral interview questions, crafting four multi-element stories you can tailor to difficult people, learning new skills, or overcoming situations, with practice prompts.
Learn to answer 'tell me about yourself' confidently by writing, drilling, and practicing a concise, two-minute story that highlights your present role, past experiences, and future fit.
prepare for mock scenarios by researching the role, use the star method with chameleon stories, practice 'tell me about yourself' and follow up within 24 hours after the interview.
Anticipate interview day disasters and plan contingencies to stay on time. Prepare for travel, internet, wardrobe spills, and panel issues with backup plans.
Dress code guidelines vary by job type and company; dress conservatively, slightly above everyday attire for interviews, including virtual ones, and plan ahead to avoid outfit disasters.
Learn to follow up after an interview by sending a same-day or 24-hour thank-you email to every interviewer, set timelines, and pursue next steps with respectful persistence.
Master efficient interview follow-up emails using a three-paragraph template—thank you, why you’re a fit, and next steps—kept upbeat, timely, and professional with clear subject lines and signatures.

Knowing how to develop and execute the right game plan will save you weeks of time and effort.
Create a Winning Resume: Applying to dozens of jobs but never hearing anything back? Beyond frustrating. The point of a resume is to get you past the visual screen and into the interview process. These days, this part is done mostly by technology - which can be a good or a bad thing! Make sure you resume isn't getting buried at the bottom of the virtual pile.
Applying To Jobs: There are hundreds of websites online that will allow you to search for and apply to jobs. Make sure you know the most efficient paths to finding the right opportunities for you, and how your application is likely being reviewed from the company's point of view.
Networking and Linkedin: Utilizing your network has never been so important. We give you all the insight, tips, tools, and recommendations on how to create, build, and leverage your network - both on and offline.
Preparing for Interviews: In order for a phone, virtual, or live interview to be successful, you need to know how to control your environment, what prep work needs to be done in advance, top questions to practice in advance, and common mistakes to avoid. We go step by step in each interview type on how to set yourself up to win any interview round.
All of the Characters: Knowing the difference between a recruiter, hiring manager, and an owner seems simple - but do you know exactly what to prepare based on who you're meeting with?Understanding who cares about what within the process, what their goals are, and how they're measured will greatly impact your ability to make a connection.
Arriving Prepared and How to Follow Up: These seem like basic fundamentals of interviewing, but you'd be surprised on how many people give off the wrong impression by getting these things wrong! Knowing common mistakes to avoid ensures you arrive prepared and give off the best first impression possible. Lastly, following up with the appropriate etiquette is without question, immensely important in you getting through to the next step.
