Introduction to Indian Constitution

This course, Introduction to Indian Constitution, is designed to provide an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the cornerstone of India's legal and political framework. The journey begins with an exploration of the historical context, tracing the origins of the Constitution and the significant events and ideologies that influenced its formation. Students will gain insights into the motivations and aspirations of the founding fathers, who sought to create a robust document that would govern a newly independent nation.

The course will then delve into the fundamental principles and salient features of the Constitution, which includes the written constitution, blend of rigidity and flexibility, Integrated and independent judiciary, parliamentary system of government etc.

Participants will have the opportunity to study key provisions and articles, focusing on the Fundamental Rights that protect individual freedoms, the Directive Principles of State Policy that guide the government in making policies aimed at social and economic welfare, and the Fundamental Duties that outline the responsibilities of every citizen.
