HVAC Lessons Learned

- HVAC systems need to control the temperature in the room. When it is cold, we need to supply heat for the room. In this session we could understand what kind of equipment and instrument are used for heating. And there is a lesson I got to know about it during the commissioning.

- To ventilate is one of main function of the HVAC system. You can get what kind of equipment and devices are used for it. And there are 2 lessons you should know for the HVAC design and commissioning.

- In this session, we will check ACCU (Air Cooled Condensing Unit) and chiller. You will understand what kind of devices will be used with them after taking this session. And we will check lessons useful for handling HVAC project.

- IAQ means a variety of things such as noise, CO2 concentration, temperature, relative humidity and so on. We will check equipment for removing dust and foreign materials in the OA (Outside Air). And there are lessons can be helpful for dealing with a HVAC project.

- Nowadays HVAC control system has lots of functions. Preventing fire and smoke is also one of HVAC functions. We will check devices to be used for it. And there is a lesson we need to think about. It is a problem I am handling now for an EPC project now..

- The relative humidity level of inside building should be from 40 to 60% normally. Too low or too high humidity is bad for not only human being’s health but also critical equipment in the building. In this session, we will check the equipment and device for it. And there are lessons we need to think about for a better HVAC system.

- We need to care about how to save energy by using HVAC systems. We will check the VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) used for saving energy typically. And there is a lesson for designing VFD for AHU.

- The level of noise is one of major factor for IAQ (Inside Air Quality). The HAVC system should not generate lots of noise to meet the noise requirement for rooms. And there is an interesting lesson I have handled in the past actually.

HVAC systems control several things such as temperature, relative humidity and so on by controlling fluid like air and water and refrigerant. In this session we will check about devices for controlling air and water flow. And there is a lesson which happens often.

- To prevent bad smell or toxic gases going to other rooms we need to pressurize some specific rooms such as toilet, janitor, kitchen, negative pressure room in the hospital and so on. After considering the rooms’ purpose. In this session we will check the most popular ways to do pressurization. And there is a lesson related in the pressurization as well.
