- You should already have a basic understanding of how to write songs. If you have already written a couple songs, you’ll be fine. If not, I would recommend first taking a basic or introductory course on songwriting.

And as a professional songwriter I'll tell ya - I rarely if ever write songs by myself. Why? Well...it's not because I can't write songs by myself...I can, and I'm sure you can too.
