    In this section, you will learn the fundamental principles of fetal echocardiography. Topics include practical ultrasound machine settings for optimal image acquisition, fetal circulation, the genetic basis of congenital heart diseases, and, most importantly, fetal cardiovascular risk assessment.

Fetal Echocardiography: Prenatal Cardiac Diagnosis is a comprehensive, case-based course designed for obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, pediatric cardiologists, radiologists, sonographers, and trainees involved in prenatal diagnosis. The course provides a practical, systematic approach to fetal cardiac examination, enabling participants to confidently evaluate the fetal heart and improve the prenatal detection of congenital heart diseases in everyday clinical practice.

The course begins with the fundamental principles of fetal echocardiography, including optimization of ultrasound equipment, fetal circulation, cardiovascular risk assessment, and the genetic basis of congenital heart disease. You will learn how to obtain high-quality images, identify normal fetal cardiac anatomy, determine fetal situs, evaluate cardiac position, and perform a structured fetal cardiac examination using the standard echocardiographic views recommended for prenatal screening.

Through real clinical cases and practical demonstrations, you will develop the knowledge and skills required to diagnose both common and complex congenital heart diseases. The course covers atrial and ventricular septal defects, atrioventricular valve abnormalities, cardiomyopathies, hypoplastic left heart syndrome, tetralogy of Fallot, D-transposition of the great arteries, congenitally corrected transposition, anomalous pulmonary venous connections, pulmonary atresia, double outlet right ventricle (DORV), double outlet left ventricle (DOLV), tricuspid atresia, truncus arteriosus, and important aortic arch abnormalities, including coarctation of the aorta and interrupted aortic arch. Special emphasis is placed on recognizing the characteristic echocardiographic findings and selecting the optimal imaging planes for accurate prenatal diagnosis.
