  • Introduction the Course5:18

Hello, I am having to put this here as Lecture 1 because I don't know how to splice down my first lecture to ten minutes. Pardon the repeat of a video here. Thank you for my work in progress as I learn how to do these things! :-)

  • Embracing Me: Moving Forward1:08:20

This is the main video in this course. You will want to view this video first before going onto the other lectures. In this video, I will give you a rough idea about what the Narcissistic traits are of both the partner and the parent. There are books offered as suggestions for further reading. The rest of the video will focus on moving forward in your life and how to have more successful relationships in the future. The last slide will offer links to other resources where you can learn more about the narcissist or about healing. Once you finish viewing this lecture, than you will get more in-depth discussions about what was brought up in this lecture.

Note: I have expanded my resource list and provided this for you below. Also, my new email is now transformpsych@outlook.com. I plan to re-do the video above in the future but in the meantime, you have my correct email here.

  • Narcissistic Traits and Covert Vs. Overt32:59

In this video, I will talk a little more about narcissistic traits in partners, the covert vs. the overt narcissist. We are not making a diagnosis, simply understanding a little bit more what this means.

  • Romantic Delusion24:47

Imagine you are on a second or third date with a very handsome man. There is something that draws you into his face. His smile, his eyes, his generosity, his warmth. You find yourself lapping up everything he has to say. Then you come home and you talk to your friends about how it went. What did he say? You can tell them where he works, how old he is, what he looks like, even how many siblings he has. When it comes to answering questions about his previous relationship, what he wants for the future, any tensions he might have brought up with family or friends, or anything at all of substance that may have seemed to be a conversation that triggered you in some way – you draw a blank.

  • Triggers12:22

In this video, I will talk a little bit more about triggers. This topic was brought up in the main portion of this course. Triggers is a word heard frequently in relation to trauma survivors.

  • Setting Boundaries11:37

In this video, I will elaborate a little more about what are different types of boundaries you might set in your life. There is a great workbook that I forgot to mention in this video and it is called "Boundaries." Check it out or order this at your local bookstore.

  • Guided Mediation and Writing Exercise9:34

In this video, you will be doing a guided meditation and then journaling what comes up for you at the end.

  • Homework25:30

This video is explaining the homework assignments which are attached here.

  • Having a Healthy Relationship After a Narcissist51:55

Now that you are finished with the workshop, let's talk about having a healthy relationship and what this will look like.

Note: After you have finished this entire workshop, if you feel comfortable, I have prepared a research questionnaire below for you to fill out and send back to me. It is completely voluntary but I thank you in advance for taking this into consideration.

Description

This course offers a one-hour webinar with five additional support videos on how to turn your life around after surviving a narcissistic parent or partner. You will learn what a narcissistic person looks like – not the diagnosis but what traits you might see in either a parent or a partner. You will gain skills for rebuilding your sense of self and what might get in the way of moving forward. We will talk about setting boundaries and asking for what you want. We will also talk about triggers that keep you stuck. There is a guided meditation we will do with a writing exercise along with a homework video to explain everything I am offering you.

It is helpful if you have already left the relationship and are ready to move forward. With a parent, you are going to have them in your life no matter what and these skills will help you to be able to be with them without being the scapegoat. It is not easy but with practice and patience you will find you are able to be in the room with this person in a more peaceful and diplomatic way.

While this is a mini-course, these skills will help you to get started and begin practicing the tools being offered here in your life. I hope to offer more courses here in the future.
