This course therefore offers a detailed exploration of diplomacy and the strategies employed by global organizations in conflict zones. We will begin by laying the foundation with an overview of conflict zones and the role of international relations. As you progress, you will delve into the key theories and approaches to conflict diplomacy, examining both traditional and emerging diplomatic strategies. Case studies from different conflict zones will allow you to analyze how international actors responded to real-world crises. The course will also address the ongoing challenges faced by diplomats, such as sovereignty issues, non-state actors, and humanitarian interventions.

This course was designed and delivered by Brigadier (Rtd.) Benedict Kioko Mwololo, drawing on 37 years of distinguished military service, deep expertise in international relations and diplomacy, leadership, command and management, defense and security studies, and hands-on experience in global strategic analysis. His experience include leadership roles in UN peacekeeping, aviation, and defense education at the National Defence University–Kenya.
