"This course contains the use of artificial intelligence."
This course provides a complete and practical understanding of power transformers, covering design, construction, manufacturing, testing, and protection systems used in real industry environments. It is designed to help you build strong fundamentals as well as gain hands-on knowledge required for working in the power sector.
You will start with the basic concepts of transformer operation, core design, winding configurations, insulation systems, and cooling methods. The course then takes you through the complete manufacturing process, including core cutting, stacking, winding, insulation, assembly, drying, and tanking.
A major focus is on transformer testing as per IEC and ANSI/IEEE standards. You will learn routine tests, type tests, and special tests such as insulation resistance, winding resistance, ratio and vector group, load loss, no-load loss, impedance measurement, dielectric tests, induced overvoltage, lightning impulse, temperature rise test, and partial discharge measurement.
You will also understand transformer protection systems and accessories like Buchholz relay, OLTC protection, temperature indicators, oil level indicators, and pressure relief devices.
This course is ideal for electrical engineers, students, and professionals who want practical knowledge and real-world insights to confidently work in transformer design, testing, manufacturing, or maintenance, improving skills, career growth, and industry expertise significantly.
