Description

Cognitive Behavioural Coaching (CBC) is an evidence-based approach to coaching that helps ourselves and our clients create desirable and sustainable changes in their lives. This course will give you everything you need to understand CBC and how coaches use it to help people achieve their personal and professional goals.

CBC looks at how our thoughts, feelings and actions are connected and by modifying the way we think using cognitive strategies, and the way we act using behavioural methods, we can respond more flexibly to situations, reinterpreting negative thoughts, avoiding thinking traps, and making positive changes to our behaviour.

In the course, you will learn:

  • What Cognitive Behavioural Coaching (CBC) is and how it works

  • Understand problems using the cognitive model and how we get stuck in problematic cycles

  • Step-by-step how CBC is used by coaches

  • What it is like to work as a coach

  • How CBC applies to common problems like procrastination and assertiveness

  • Third-wave approaches that integrate mindfulness into cognitive behavioural approaches

Throughout this course you will develop an evidence-based approach to coaching, understanding both the theoretical models that underpin successful change, and the tools, techniques and skills that coaches need to support their clients.

The course comes with a comprehensive handbook and is assessed by a series of multiple-choice quizzes. On completing the course, you will earn a certificate accredited by the International Association of Therapists. If you wish to become a registered member of the ICF you will require further training.

  • Coaches and trainee coaches looking to explore the cognitive behavioural model
  • Individuals interested in self-development and unlocking their potential
  • Managers and leaders who want to nurture and empower their teams
