Welcome to "Climate Change and Green Infrastructure"!
Climate change is affecting everyone. This course will help you develop a good understanding of what climate change is and what we can do to mitigate and adapt to climate change. While there are many ways to fight climate change, this course focuses on green infrastructure, which uses nature as an infrastructural system to manage climate change and help people prepare for it. In this course, you will learn the practices of some large-scale green infrastructure projects, as well as those of smaller projects at a local level. By the end of the course, I hope you will not only have learned more about climate change and green infrastructure, but also take a step forward and support the adoption of green infrastructure. This course includes 12 lectures in an animated format. In addition to the lectures, the course also includes quizzes, fun assignments, and science project suggestions that will help you understand the course material in depth.

What green infrastructure is and how it helps manage climate change
Specific examples of green infrastructure and the climate issues they address

Instructor
Valentina Zhang is an advocate for the environment. She is a teaching assistant for the perennial Ecology, Evolution, and Engineering for Empowered Brains workshop series at MIT. This online course includes some of the materials used at the workshop, Valentina’s studies at her moss laboratory in the basement of her house, and her research on environmental issues. In her other lives, Valentina is a student at Winsor school, and has hosted ecology exhibitions at Wellesley Science Expo and Science on the State Street in Massachusetts. She is very excited to share her knowledge and excitement about climate change and green infrastructure on Udemy.
