For each cookie I will tell you what ingredients, icing consistencies and materials you will need, the following list is a general ingredients and materials you will need be using in this course.

The most important foundation of cookie decorating is to have a "Good cookie recipe".
In this section I will teach you step by step on how to prepare my foolproof cookie recipe.
In the resources you can fine some links for other cookie recipes and also you can print the recipe.
In this section you will learn how to cut out and bake cookies to perfection!
In this section I will walk you through the process of baking the cut-out cookies to perfection.
If you are going to use a traditional electric or gas oven you need to pre heat your oven at 350 ºF degrees.
For convection oven pre-heat the oven at 325 ºF .
In this part of the course you will learn how to prepare and tint royal icing.
FIRM CONSISTENCY ROYAL ICING RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
4 cups of powder sugar
4 tbsp meringue powder, ( Brand Chefmaster)
1/4 cup filtered water + 1/4 cup more
1 tsp clear vanilla extract or lime juice
PREPARATION
1.- Mix the meringue powder with the water and set aside.
2.- Sift the powder sugar in the mixer bowl and add the meringue powder mix.
3.- Start beating and slow speed, you will see some climbs of sugar formed, you can add up to 1/4 cup of water more. Increase the speed to high and beat for 4 minutes. You can add few more drops of water if your powder sugar starts to form big balls.
4.- Add the vanilla extract or lime juice and mix for 1 more minute at high speed until firm peaks are formed.
5.- Put the icing in a sealed tight container.
With this firm royal icing consistency you can prepare the other consistencies you will need to start decorating cookies like a pro!
Note: Each brand of meringue power acts a little bit different, these next recipes are made with firm consistency icing made with chefmaster meringue powder.
What is important here is to pay attention to the video and see how the consistency should look like, so you can start adding the amount of water on the next recipes, but you might need a little bit more to achieve the right consistency.
To prepare medium consistency you will need:
1/2 cup firm royal icing
1 tsp filtered water
Flooding consistency:
1/2 cup firm royal icing
3 1/2 tsp filtered water
Magic consistency:
1/2 cup firm royal icing
2 1/2 tsp filtered water
To prepare this consistency you will need:
1/2 cup firm royal icing (following the recipe of this course) .
2 to 2 1/2 tsp filtered water
In this video you will see how to prepare a pastry bag using a decorating tip and a tip-less pastry bag.

In this section you will see how to decorate a Christmas light using the traditional cookie decorating technique making and outline using medium consitency and then covering the cookie with flooding consistency icing.
