Description

This course is designed to equip learners with the skills they require to measure the GHG emissions of any company of any size. It is based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol- the leading framework for measuring and accounting for carbon emissions.

This course also offers students the opportunity to learn about carbon data governance and assurance. These are really elevated issues in carbon accounting that are theoretical in nature, thus often seem to be boring to students. This course has brought live to this seemingly boring topics in carbon accounting by emphasizing only what you need to know and do at work or in a project where you are involved in measuring the carbon footprint of an organization of a product. This course lay emphasis on basic governance tasks like roles and responsibilities, policies and procedures and internal controls over carbon data. It also discuss assurance and the role it plays in enhancing the credibility of an organization's carbon data and disclosures.

At the end of this course, students will be able to define organizational boundaries and operational boudaries using the approach required by GHG Protocol and build an auditable GHG inventory that is fit for purpose in reporting an organization's  carbon footprint to shareholders, regulators and stakeholders.
