Description
This is a course in corporate governance, but don't let that scare you. If you are in business today, ask yourself whether your company is benefiting directly from having a Board of Directors. The truth is, few do and most management teams see their Board as just another group of bosses that meddle in the affairs of the business.
It doesn't and it should have to be this way. The Board of Directors can add significant value to help the organization attain its vision and fulfill its mission. This course will look at three key Board Leadership Roles that are rarely taught in undergraduate or even masters level business programs. Whether your company is public, private, non-profit, or even a government agency, the principles discussed will apply to your organization.

Blair is a many-time corporate director, CFO, author, speaker, educator, innovator, and thought leader. His educational videos of accounting and finance have million of views on YouTube. He has keynoted and spoken at national conferences from New York to Toronto. Along with Jen, he co-hosts CPA Canada’s podcast series “CPA Success Podcast.” He works with real businesses to experiment with theories and practices developed both in the academic and real world. He then shares these experiences and stories with others of what works, what doesn’t, and what was learned. He is the author of The Illiterate Executive: An Executive’s Handbook for Mastering Financial Acumen.
Jen is a dynamic financial professional with over 20 years of leadership experience in public practice, academia and industry. Jen is the co-host of CPA Canada’s podcast series “CPA Success Podcast.” Jen brings to the classroom a broad skill set and experience in all key facets of an organization including operations management, strategic planning, business development, finance, accounting, investor relations, human resources, and project management.
