Description
Learn to play Happy Birthday on the ukulele. This course is aimed at beginners. There is no need to be able to read music or even have picked up a ukulele. All you need is a ukulele, access to a tuner and a desire to learn.
This course will start right at the beginning - showing you: what the different parts of the ukulele are, how to tune the ukulele and how to use the resources for this course.
We will then move on to playing the tune of Happy Birthday. By the end of the course, you well be able to play three different versions - the melody line on its own using fingerstyle, the chords using strumming and a developed version combining the chords with a new rhythm. This gives you a great introduction to the different sounds your ukulele can make.
Resources at each stage will include easy-to-read diagrams, tablature (TAB), charts and mp3 playalongs. The sheet music is also provided for those who are interested but there is no need to be able to read them.

Instructors
Paul is a composer / arranger, multi-instrumentalist and teacher. He is an all-round musician accomplished on many instruments including guitar, violin, piano, bass, trumpet, drums, banjo, harmonica and ukulele.
He graduated from Trinity College of Music, London in violin, piano and composition (1976-80). Paul has been involved in many classical / light music ventures including orchestras, a flute quartet, a duo with cello and even a 1930’s cabaret act. He went on to play bass, guitar, violin and keyboards in various bands.
Paul continues to develop teaching, composition and recording. In particular, with Ben Hewlett on his ongoing harmonica courses at Harmonica World and with Amanda Jones on their ukulele courses on Udemy. He has also recorded media music released through Score Production Music and Boost Music with David Hewson and has produced numerous albums on CD Baby.
Amanda has been studying music for a number of years and is a student of Paul Lennon. She has learnt music theory, singing and a variety of string instruments. The string instruments include the ukulele, guitar, mandolin and violin. She is the co-creator, director and editor of Paul Lennon's ukulele courses.
