Welcome ! I’m Dr. Romana Gulshani, and I’m excited to guide you through this journey into the future of people management. AI is transforming every part of HR — and in this course, you’ll learn how to use it with confidence, clarity, and purpose
In HR and business today, Predictive AI helps us forecast attrition, hiring needs, and performance risks—while Generative AI helps us write job descriptions, build training content, and automate workflows. This video will show you how each type of AI works, what problems they solve, and how you can start using them together for smarter, faster outcomes.
In this video, we compare traditional performance management systems with modern AI-powered approaches. You’ll see how old models rely on annual reviews and subjective feedback, while AI-driven systems enable continuous evaluation, real-time insights, and data-backed decisions that support employee growth.
Prompt engineering is the practice of crafting clear, precise, and context-rich instructions when interacting with generative AI tools. For HR professionals, this is not just a technical skill but a critical competency. The way a question or request is framed directly influences the accuracy, relevance, and usefulness of AI-generated responses. In other words, the quality of the output is only as good as the quality of the input.
In HR contexts—whether drafting job descriptions, summarizing performance feedback, or generating employee survey questions—poorly designed prompts can result in vague, irrelevant, or even biased outputs. A well-structured prompt, however, provides the AI with context, scope, and intent, ensuring that the results are aligned with organizational needs and professional standards.
For example, instead of asking “Write an onboarding plan,” a stronger prompt would be: “Create a 7-day onboarding plan for a new HR associate in a mid-sized technology startup, with tasks for day one, training sessions, and mentorship activities.” This added detail makes the AI’s output practical and directly usable.
Another vital reason prompt engineering matters is its role in reducing “hallucinations”—a common issue where AI tools generate information that is fabricated or inaccurate. By asking targeted questions, clarifying the source requirements, or requesting structured formats (like bullet points, tables, or checklists), HR professionals can minimize these risks. For instance, if you ask AI to generate labor law requirements without specifying the country, the tool might provide misleading or irrelevant details. But if you frame the prompt as, “List three key labor law requirements for new employee contracts in India, with references to official sources,” you increase the chances of accurate and reliable information.
For HR professionals, then, prompt engineering is not about learning coding—it’s about learning to communicate effectively with AI. With this skill, they can unlock AI’s full potential as a partner in recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, and analytics, while maintaining control, accuracy, and ethical standards in their work.
Whether you want ChatGPT to act as a recruiter, an HR manager, a trainer, or even a career coach, persona prompting helps you shape the tone, depth, and style of the output to match your exact needs.
When you give the AI context—like the role you’re hiring for, the type of organization, the audience, or the problem you’re solving—the outputs instantly become more specific and useful.
AI is no longer a buzzword in HR—it’s transforming how we hire, manage, and develop people every day.
