No coding experience required ....just bring your curiosity!
Before we dive into the OnDemand platform itself, let's build a solid understanding of what AI agents actually are and why they matter.
What Are AI Agents?
AI agents are specialized extensions that supercharge AI models by connecting them to real-world systems, data, and tasks. Think of a basic AI model like a brain — it can think and respond, but it's stuck in a room. Agents give that brain hands, eyes, and tools so it can actually go out and do things: browse the web, pull stock data, send emails, analyze documents, and much more.
Key Concepts You'll Learn:
The difference between a basic AI model and an AI agent
How agents extend AI capabilities by connecting to external systems and data sources
The three building blocks on OnDemand: Agent Tools (modular capabilities that retrieve data or trigger actions), Agents (full-featured combinations of tools with pre-configured logic), and Agent Flows (autonomous multi-step workflows that chain agents together)
Real-world use cases: customer support automation, data analysis and reporting, marketing and sales intelligence, financial analysis, academic research, and more
How the Agent Marketplace works as a hub to discover, deploy, and share prebuilt agents
The concept of "no-code" agent building — you don't need to be a developer to create powerful AI agents
Why This Matters:
Understanding these foundations is critical before you start building. Once you grasp how agents work and what they can do, everything else in this course — from the platform walkthrough to building your own products — will click into place.
Up next in Lecture 3, we'll take a hands-on tour of the OnDemand platform so you can see these concepts in action.
Now that you understand what AI agents are and why they matter, it's time to see the full OnDemand platform laid out in front of you. This lecture is your map — a complete visual tour of every section of the dashboard so you always know where to find what you need.
The OnDemand Dashboard: Your Command Center:
The platform is organized into clear sections accessible from the left sidebar. Here's what each one does and when you'll use it:
1. Playground — This is where you'll spend most of your time. It's an interactive chat interface where you select an AI model (like Gemini, GPT, or others), type prompts, attach files, and test agents in real time. Think of it as your AI sandbox — no code needed, just type and experiment.
2. My Agents — Your personal agent management hub. Every agent you create or customize lives here. You can edit, duplicate, or delete agents as your projects evolve.
3. Agent Marketplace — A curated library of prebuilt agents, agent tools, and agent flows ready to deploy. Browse by category, read reviews, and add agents to your workspace with a single click. This is the fastest way to get started without building from scratch.
4. Agent Flow Builder — The visual workflow designer where you chain multiple agents together into automated, multi-step pipelines using a drag-and-drop DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph) interface. Perfect for complex tasks like "research a topic, then write a summary, then send an email."
5. Tools & Deployment — This is the advanced section that includes Bring Your Own Model (BYOM), Bring Your Own Inference (BYOI), Serverless Applications, Chat Batch, API Keys Management, Agent Tools, MCP, Storage, Web Chatbot Creator, and Cloud Services. You don't need all of these right away, but knowing they exist means you can scale when you're ready.
6. Insights & Help — Track your usage, view earnings if you publish agents, access documentation, join the Discord community, and read the blog for tips and updates.
Why This Matters:
Knowing the layout of the platform before you start building saves you time and frustration. After this lecture, you'll never feel lost in the dashboard — you'll know exactly where to go for every task.
Coming up next: We'll dive deep into the Agent Tools & Marketplace in Lecture 4, where you'll learn how to find, deploy, and start using prebuilt agents for real tasks.
Now that you understand the layout of the OnDemand platform, it is time to explore two of its most powerful features — Agent Tools and the Agent Marketplace. Think of Agent Tools as the building blocks that give your AI superpowers, and the Marketplace as the store where you can grab ready-made agents that are already wired up and ready to work.
In this lecture, you will watch a walkthrough video that shows you exactly how to navigate the Marketplace, browse available agents, and understand what each one does. By the end, you will feel comfortable finding and deploying agents on your own.
What You Will Learn:
What Agent Tools are — These are specialized add-ons (like Internet Search, Document Reader, Image Generator, Stock Market Data, and more) that you can attach to any AI model in the Playground. Each tool gives the model a new ability it would not have on its own.
How the Agent Marketplace works — The Marketplace is a one-stop shop where you can discover prebuilt agents created by the OnDemand community and team. You can browse by category, search by keyword, and preview what each agent does before adding it.
Types of agents you will find — The Marketplace includes Knowledge Agents (trained on specific documents), REST API Agents (connected to live data sources), and community-built agents for tasks like email marketing, stock analysis, SEO audits, social media content, and much more.
How to add an agent to your Playground — You will see how to click on any Marketplace agent, review its description and conversation starters, and add it directly to your Playground chat with one click.
Building your own Agent Tools — Beyond using prebuilt agents, OnDemand lets you create custom Agent Tools using knowledge uploads (PDFs, documents, websites) or REST API connections. This means you can build tools tailored to your exact business needs no coding required.
Why This Matters:
Agent Tools and the Marketplace are what make OnDemand different from a basic chatbot. Instead of just chatting with an AI model, you are stacking real capabilities on top of it — live data, document intelligence, web search, and more. This is the foundation for building AI products that actually solve problems.
Coming up next: In Lecture 5, you will get a full hands-on Playground Walkthrough where you will put everything together selecting models, attaching Agent Tools, and running real conversations with your AI setup.
This is the lecture where everything comes together. You have learned what the OnDemand platform looks like, explored Agent Tools and the Marketplace, and now it is time to get hands-on. In this Playground Walkthrough, you will follow along step by step as we build a real AI conversation from scratch selecting a model, attaching Agent Tools, adjusting settings, and running live prompts.
In this lecture, you will watch a full walkthrough video that takes you through every part of the Playground interface. By the end, you will feel confident using the Playground on your own to test ideas, build agents, and create real AI-powered workflows.
What You Will Learn:
How to select and switch AI models — You will see how to choose from available models (like Gemini, GPT, and others) and understand when to use each one based on your task.
How to attach Agent Tools — You will learn how to add tools like Internet Search, Document Reader, and Image Generator to your conversation, giving the AI new capabilities beyond basic text.
How to configure conversation settings — You will explore settings like temperature, max tokens, and system prompts to control how the AI behaves and responds.
How to manage conversations — You will learn how to start new chats, review conversation history, and organize your Playground sessions for different projects.
Why This Matters:
The Playground is where you will spend most of your time on the OnDemand platform. It is your sandbox for testing, experimenting, and building. Mastering the Playground means you can quickly prototype AI solutions, test different models and tools, and refine your approach before turning ideas into full products. This is the hands-on foundation for everything that follows.
Coming up next: In Lecture 6, you will dive into the Agent Flow Builder — the visual workflow designer where you chain multiple agents together into automated, multi-step pipelines using a drag-and-drop interface.
Up until now, you have been working with individual agents and tools inside the Playground. But what happens when you need multiple agents to work together in sequence, one researching, another summarizing, and a third sending the final output? That is exactly what the Agent Flow Builder is designed for.
In this lecture, you will watch a complete walkthrough of the Agent Flow Builder, the visual workflow designer that lets you chain agents together into automated, multi-step pipelines. Using a drag-and-drop DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph) interface, you will see how to connect agents, pass data between them, and build powerful automations without writing a single line of code.
What You Will Learn:
What the Agent Flow Builder is — The Flow Builder is a visual canvas where you design multi-agent workflows. Each node represents an agent or action, and connections between nodes define how data flows from one step to the next.
How to create a new flow — You will see how to start a blank flow, name it, and begin adding agent nodes to the canvas using the drag-and-drop interface.
How to connect agents in sequence — You will learn how to link agents together so the output of one becomes the input of the next, creating a seamless automated pipeline.
How to configure individual nodes — Each agent node can be customized with its own model, tools, and instructions. You will see how to fine-tune each step in your workflow for the best results.
How to test and run a flow — You will watch a live demonstration of running a completed flow from start to finish, seeing how data moves through each agent in real time.
Why This Matters:
The Agent Flow Builder is what takes you from experimenting with single agents to building real, scalable AI automations. Instead of manually copying outputs between conversations, you can design workflows that run end to end with a single click. This is the key to creating AI products and solutions that save time and deliver consistent results.
Coming up next: In Lecture 7, you will learn how to go from Agent to Product — turning your agents and flows into shareable, deployable AI products that others can use.
