Description

You’re here because you’re an experienced educator who knows that great teaching is always evolving. In this course, you’ll refine your reading lessons, gain practical skills to support your teachers and learners, and boost your career prospects—possibly even your salary!

We’ll tackle the biggest misconceptions about reading, dig into the debates, and cut through the noise to focus on what really works. You’ll learn how to make texts meaningful, motivating, and purposeful, so that learners don’t just answer questions but actually use the language and ideas they encounter. The course is packed with ready-to-use resources you can take straight into your lessons—or share through our built-in train-the-trainer approach. That means you’ll grow not only as a classroom teacher but also as a mentor, helping colleagues raise their practice too.

You’ll discover how to design tasks that move naturally from gist to detail to inference and opinion, giving learners the chance to build comprehension, critical thinking, and confidence in a structured, supportive way. You’ll explore how to handle challenging texts, balance scaffolding with independence, and exploit reading as a springboard for fluency, writing, and discussion. Plus, you’ll see how AI can save time, create personalised texts, and provide new possibilities for task design and classroom engagement.

By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped with strategies that bring reading to life, tools that reduce planning stress, and the confidence to lead on reading instruction in your school or organisation.
