Description

Active Shooter, Workplace Violence & Terrorism Preparedness

Active shooter incidents, workplace violence, terrorism, and other acts of targeted violence can develop rapidly and with little warning. Effective preparedness begins with understanding how to recognize potential threats, evaluate changing circumstances, and make informed decisions during a critical incident.

This professional training program provides practical education in active shooter preparedness, workplace violence awareness and prevention, terrorism preparedness, situational awareness, personal safety, and emergency response.

The course is designed for both professional and civilian learners and examines response considerations across a variety of environments, including workplaces, schools, public locations, vehicles, offices, and other everyday settings.

Continuing Education

This course has been approved for continuing education through the Nevada Department of Education.

Eligible participants who successfully complete the program may qualify for 2.2 CEU hours, subject to the requirements of the approving organization.

Practical, Scenario-Based Training

This course goes beyond lecture-only instruction. Students are presented with demonstrations, scenarios, and practical examples designed to illustrate how rapidly changing conditions can affect awareness, judgment, and emergency decision-making.

Throughout the program, students examine concepts involving threat recognition, situational awareness, avoidance, evacuation, sheltering, communication, environmental protection, emergency response, and last-resort defensive considerations when safer alternatives are unavailable.

The emphasis is on helping students prepare before an emergency occurs, recognize developing threats, evaluate available options, and make better-informed decisions under pressure.

About the Instructor

The program was developed by Doron Benbenisty, founder of CRI Counter Terrorism Training School and an experienced counter-terrorism, security, and personal-protection instructor.

Doron’s professional background includes Israeli military and special-operations experience as well as decades of work in counter-terrorism, personal security, defensive tactics, executive protection, emergency preparedness, and professional training.

His instructional approach combines professional security concepts with practical, scenario-based education designed to help students better understand how preparedness principles may apply in real-world environments.

The Purpose of the Program

No training program can predict every emergency or guarantee a particular outcome. Every critical incident presents different circumstances, risks, and available options.

The purpose of this program is to provide students with knowledge, awareness, preparedness principles, and practical response considerations that can support better decision-making before, during, and after a violent critical incident.

Students should always follow applicable laws, organizational policies, established emergency procedures, and instructions from law-enforcement and emergency-response personnel.

Prepare. Recognize. Respond.

Develop the knowledge, awareness, and preparedness needed to make better-informed decisions when they matter most.
