Every Organization has waste in it, Infact most have as much as 75% of daily operations in any work environment that can be hidden wastes or of no value. Waste can be defined as any activity that does not add value to the product or service in the eyes of your customer. This often includes activities that do not transform the product or service in any way, shape or form and all products or activities that are not performed correctly the first time through. That's right, waste is everywhere! It drives costs up, pushes productivity and efficiency down and ties up resources. It is only through the complete and total elimination of these major forms of Waste that a company can experience increased throughput times, lower inventory, shorter lead times and more efficient use of Company Resources. The 8 major forms of waste course will prepare employees and or organizations to identify waste or muda as it is referred to in Lean within their respective environments. We will also look at an overview of some basic methods of eliminating each of these forms of waste. Students will also receive Professional Development statement for taking this course and certification of completion.
