Welcome to my course, yoga journey, about finding peace through reflection and movement.

My name is Hannah and I love combining, sharing, and teaching my passions of yoga, art, travel, and self-discovery.

Yoga turned into a life changing practice for me when I began to practice four years ago. I felt the effects of moving my body with my breath, along with building muscles, flexibly, and balance.

I’ve been teaching live yoga classes for over a year now after receiving my 200-Hour teacher training at one of San Diego’s most authentic Vinyasa yoga studios, and I’ve seen the difference that teaching yoga and self-discovery is making in many of my friends and family members lives.

After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate physical poses that will build strength, flexibility, and balance
  • Move consciously with your breath
  • Activate the light/energy within
  • Open your heart to feel emotions that arise in the moment

This Course consists of 4 sections.

In each section you will find:

  • written discussion about the topic
  • video explanation with key ideas to reflect on
  • breakdowns of foundation and alignment to keep you safe and activated during key poses
  • physical yoga sequence video that includes warm-up, Sun-Salutations, key poses, inversions, cool down, savasana.

I designed this course for individuals who want to live their life to the fullest by balancing their emotions, reducing stress, and building strength and flexibility for a balanced body.

Instructor Biography

Hannah Faulkner, Yoga and Art Instructor

Hannah’s curiosity and adventurous spirit urged her to travel the world, after completing a degree in Liberal Studies with an Art concentration. She became a flight attendant and traveled for 4 years to see places with interesting and different cultures, natural beauty, and art history.

Hannah first tried yoga at the end of her college studies, when her fingertips were 6-8 inches from touching the ground (in forward fold). She really dove in and found transformation through Yoga One San Diego. In 2012, Hannah met Laura McCorey, a teacher and blog writer from Yoga One, and began learning yoga in beautiful Balboa Park. Laura opened her perspective to the healing aspect that yoga can bring and she began to find inner balance and peace as she practiced 3-4 times a week at the studio for the following years to the present. With an athletic background of a runner and hiker, Hannah gradually began to increase in flexibility and whole body strength to start learning more intermediate and advanced poses.

During that time, she completed her California Teaching Credential in Art and began teaching drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media to K-8th grade students.

In fall of 2014, after completing the Rainbow Kids Yoga Training, she stumbled upon the opportunity to also teach yoga to her students at the charter school. Hannah emphasizes safety in getting into and out of poses, proper alignment, and the benefits of breathing with your movements (Vinyasa Flow). She incorporates partner poses like 'Bicycle" and "House" to teach trusting and interconnected relationships.

Hannah enjoys inspiring her students through a full body experience of a creative theme and intention towards wellbeing, movement with breath, muscle strength and flexibility, balance, connection with others, listening to verbal instructions and stories, playing world music, aromatherapy, and imaginary journeys. After completing her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training this March 2015, she is excited to offer private yoga lessons to all ages as well. Hannah aspires to share her light and enthusiasm to anyone who is open.
