Ever feel exhausted, tight and sore after a long run?
I love running but hate the way it can make my joints and muscles feel. By cross training with yoga you will be able to get rid of aches and pains and prevent injury from occurring, which is crucial if you want to make running sustainable.
If you struggle with ANY of these symptoms when running… this practice can help eliminate the problems you face so you're entire lower body can feel strong and limber once again.
Yoga for Runners is divided into sessions that allow you to easily target specific areas that are achy and painful in your body. Each class runs around 15 minutes and is designed so you can mix and match to form longer, full yoga sessions. For example, you can combine the Yoga Warmup class with Hips, Quads and a Yoga Cool Down to form a complete 60 minute practice. If you have limited time… each class can be enjoyed on its own if you need to quickly address a tight area in your body.
Benefits You Can Get From This Course:
Yoga for Runners is designed for all levels including beginners, intermediate, and advanced yoga practitioners. It's designed to maximize your results in just 15 minutes a day. You can practice at your own pace in the comfort of your home, and you'll get the feeling of being in the studio. It won't feel like you're “missing out” on anything. You'll also find it's more time and cost effective than a regular class.

Whether you need a quick warmup before your run or want to do this warmup before doing my other classes, this is a great way to build up some internal heat and get your muscles ready for more physical activity.
The hips are one of the most common areas of our bodies where we hold tension. This short class will help you dynamically and passively stretch and open up the hips with poses like Warrior 2, Pigeon and Lizard.
Tight quads can be difficult to relieve. A lot of our daily activities and fitness routines work at strengthening them but very few actually stretch them out, resulting in tightness and discomfort. We will explore many different poses that help open up this area of the body. Have a strap (or belt) handy!
Lengthen your hamstrings with this 15 minute class by exploring some standing, seated and reclined poses that will teach you how to actively and passively free up that area to create lasting flexibility.
The IT band can be a difficult area to target but it is an important muscle to stretch if you are a runner. Having flexibility in the IT band will in turn help you open up your hips and improve your range of motion.
Give your calves, ankles and feet a little bit of TLC with this short class. Doing these stretches regularly should help you relieve foot cramps and shin splits so that you can more comfortably.
Whether you need to wind down after a run or just want to relax at the end of the day, this restorative practice will help you slow down your breath and tune into your body. All poses are restorative and require very little effort on your part so that you can focus on gently opening up the body and letting go.
|Section 3: BONUS|
This full length yin yoga class was originally featured on my youtube channel but is now yours to keep and save to your PC, tablet or mobile phone! Yin Yoga is a style where passive poses are held for extended periods of time to open up deep connective tissue and create lasting structural change.
