This course was taught using, video, lecture notes, practical examples. It started with the definition of what is search engine optimization, and proceeded to define search engines. The explanations provided will enable the students understand both.

We examined the facts about search engine optimization. It's important for the students to understand these facts about SEO. A good understanding of these important facts, will be of immense benefits to the student, because it will help them, make up their mind either for, or against using SEO. A quiz was included to test the knowledge of the students regarding the topic under discussion.

We looked at the various types of search engines, listing fifteen of them. Emphasise were made on the top four, that is Google, Youtube, Bing and Yahoo. The student will understand that these top four search engines controls the major traffic. A quiz was included to test the knowledge of the students on search engines.

We defined what an SEO friendly article means, and outlined the tips for writing a perfect SEO article. Some of the tips are, keyword, and example of keywords, word limit, SEO images, quality articles, SEO friendly blogs/websites, etc. A good understanding of these will help the student to write great SEO articles.

This course examined some SEO difficulties, and explained that, no one can guarantee the appearance of your article on first/top pages on the search engines. Search engine algorithm changes more frequently. Search engines are not objective etc.

Other article marketing tools/methods were examined. We looked at article directories, paid adverts, use of email lists, optimizing social media etc. It is expected that any student that completes this course, can write a sound and solid SEO friendly articles on his/her own. In addition, the students should be able to market his/her own articles on their own. This solves the problem of personal article marketing.

Definition: These are significant words that define the topic of your articles. These are likely words that you might want to be ranked high on search engines, when people do their searches. Below is an example of what is a keyword.

  • (i)Put your keyword on the titles and sub titles of your articles.
  • (ii)Make your topic shorter. (Please see my first course).
  • (iii)Put your keyword on the body of your articles.
  • (iv)Don't over apply your keyword, else search engines might consider it as spam, and if you use it properly, search engines might not find your articles. You need to strike a balance.
  • (v)Keywords to be include in your article in such a way that it looks natural or organic.
  • (vi)Without keywords, search engines will not locate your articles.

Upload your images and save them with the same names as your keywords. Image contents are getting more attention to searches. Pictures and images, speak volumes. Image on your article is recommended and might make a reader to read your articles. It can attract readers to either your article or your website or blog.

Chinedu, Vincent Akuta, How to write articles.

I have spent greater part of my life reading and writing. I have B:sc Economics, M:sc Economics, MBA Marketing, and lastly M:sc International Relations, from Loughborough University United Kingdom. I have been working under the healthcare sector since last 10 years, I became a team leader/line manager in the company I worked for. I have undergone numerous trainings/certificate courses like; QCF/NVQ 3 Health and Social Care and NVQ 2 Health and Social Care.</b>

From September 2008 to March 2012, I was a tutor at the Leicester International College, Leicester, United Kingdom. Here I had first hand experiences with students, as I taught them, marked their exams, counseled them, advised, etc.

While working, I was also a writer, and a podcaster. As a writer, most of my articles, have been published at one time or the other by all major media houses in Nigeria, and have been read by at least over 5 million people.
