State of Mind with Acting Techniques are the essential amalgamation to give you that distinctive edge over the vary same people vying for the very same position.
01:33
Over the course of my adult life I have had nearly 40 different jobs. One of the key things I noticed looking back was my state of mind – having a clear head, feeling calmer more focused and less stressed allowed me to powerfully connect with the person in the room. After switching my major to drama in university I saw the power that certain acting techniques in the job interview allowed me to stand out from all the other people and get the position. I can’t tell you how to keep a job but I have the experience to help you get it.

Section 2: State of Mind - An Understanding of How the Human Mind Really Works
01:12

Your mind is an amazing tool. In this section, we discuss how to use it best to maximize your chances on getting your ideal job.

03:17

After finishing this course you will understand how the mind works and in particular you will understand how to use this knowledge to give better answers to interview questions because you will be less nervous stressed and feeling more comfortable in your own skin.

03:07

Often during a Job Interview you will start to experience stress and negative emotions. Remember that both are a product of your thinking and that they mean nothing about the type of person you are for the position. Stress happens when you get tangled up in reaction (thinking) things that are out of your control! Like how well the job interview is proceeding.

04:41

Discover how the inside out nature of life happens to us and how to use it in a job interview. 97% of people mentally over prepare for their next job interview. By the end of this module you will have an understanding of how the mind actually works. You will also learn that your experience of life really happens from the inside out and how you can use this understanding to choose which thoughts to listen to and use in your next job interview.

01:39
  1. Your State Of Mind is the most important factor to understand before going into any Job Interview. In particular understanding that thought and feeling are inexplicably tied together. Understand that your mind has natural ups and downs and allow yourself to experience them and not fight the emotional ride. Also know that your mind has a self correcting mechanism to clear itself out and return you to a state of clarity (less on your mind)
  2. When you experience stress or negative feelings it is only because of the thoughts associated with it. And to realize that when you do have such an experience it means nothing about the type of person you are or your qualifications for the position.
  3. Doing any type of mental preparation puts undue stress and negative feelings on your mind. When you attempt any tip, trick or techniques to calm yourself down it actually does the opposite! The best Mental Preparation is to remember your understanding of how the mind naturally works. Accept that during your next job interview you will experience, to some extent, stressful and negative feelings. Allow yourself to experience those thoughts and know that you are doing your best in the moment.

Section 3: Voice Vocal Exercises
00:58

These exercises are important methods to be completely prepared to do your best in your job interview.

03:16

Yawning is something we all do naturally. Did you know that being proactive in your yawning efforts you can reap many benefits. Yawning takes in air and allows for your body to become more relaxed. During a Job Interview for example. Another benefit of yawning is that you get to stretch multiple groups at once.

02:12

The jaw is a big hings held together by a series of muscles. What happens during the interview process a person will clench their jaw muscles when nervous. It happens unconsciously. Fortunately, this simple exercise will allow you to relax all those muscles at once. Instantly release ANY tension associated with the jaw muscles. Males and Females will experience both a deeper resonance in their vocal sound and ease in speaking.

04:14

Rolling your tongue will loosen up the main instrument to help you sound professional. Lots of people work on their smile or hair or makeup but often forget to work on how they sound. The Tongue Roll is the last piece of information you need to make yourself stand out from the competition. A relaxed tongue works much better and allows for it to really make a difference in how you will come across to the person interviewing you.

2 questions

How many times is it suggested a person that a person do a Jaw Shake?

02:24
  1. The YAWN is the easiest of all these exercises to perform. It can be done on a moments notice. Additionally it does several things at once; gets more air into your body, stretches your face neck and chest at the same time. Finally it feels good to do at any time and is completely natural.
  2. The Jaw Shake allows for your voice to change resonance ( the depth of your voice) rather quickly. While men and women will have slightly different experience from doing this exercise. It will allow you to sound more professional quickly. Remember to be aware to not smash your teeth together.
  3. Tongue Roll is the final exercise to make your sound more professional and and get your ideas across clearly.
Section 4: Body WorX
01:34

It is said that communication is 55% body language, 38% sound of your voice and 7 % the actual words used. This module will give you three key Body WorX exercises to improve the way you come across with your body and communicate meaning more effectively.

01:48

An exercise where to look when you want to make eye contact but do not want to come across as staring at the person across from you.

02:41

Genuine Smile – Learn the mechanics of a real smile and how to easily make it by fake it. One exercise to command a genuine smile in 30 seconds.
