This course shows you how we set up Podio as our CRM, there is no one "right way". This just happens to be the way we started to use it in our consulting business. This course should give you some ideas for your company.
“Marni, Congratulations on putting together such an effective explanation of how and why you use Podio. The integrated work flow and work space is quite remarkable. The promised possibility of continuing to use Daylite for CRM and doing some integration with Podio would be of great interest. Looking forward to that. Brian”
The main reasons why we needed to leave Daylite and move to another system.
1. Infrastructure Stable/Ubiquitous Access - We wanted to make sure that we had maximum accessibility to our critical business information.
2. Wanted to do away with Syncing - We wanted to have one piece of data in one place where everyone could access it.
3. Wanted the ability to link up emails while out of office - We wanted to be productive everywhere.
4. Minimize data entry - We didn't want to have to cut and paste information. We wanted it entered once, and preferably by the customer.
5. Collaborate with clients/internal staff and outside contractors - W wanted to bring people in so that we could get work done faster.
6. We wanted the system to work the way that we do - We didn't want someone else dictating to us how we work. We wanted to be free to design our own workflows.
The reasons we chose Podio
Citrix acquired Podio last year in April. We have been doing business with Citrix for 4 years.
When we meet with our clients we use GoToMeeting. We have had wonderful support and good customer service, so that already made us like Citrix. We agree with their philosophy.
An excerpt from Citrix Synergy 2012
Mark Templeton explains about what happens between meetings and how Podio can help you manage that. Podio extends collaboration from that real time meeting collaboration of GoToMeeting to things that need to be done after the meeting.
Tommy Ahlers shares a demo of some new features.
This short video shows you where to follow an app.
In this video I teach you what a workspace is and then show you the steps I take after an estimate comes in. Podio can be set up to minimize data entry.
In this video I share the estimate with the prospect and show how we collaborate on it together. It's a great way of taking email out of the equation.
Depending on how we build the app, we can restrict or reveal as much information as we want to.
When we embed an item from one app into another, it lets us see all the information from that object (if we have access to it).
I show you an example of how we use Quoteroller to send out beautiful proposals to clients and how that information gets linked back up in Podio.
I show how we communicate with our clients in their workspaces.
I also show another webform that we use to collect client feedback. So we started at the website and we end up back at the website. A complete tip to tale system.
Since the production of this course, I have set up over 30 different companies with Podio. We have almost never done it the same way in each case and that is the beauty of Podio. We can tailor it to our needs or our clients needs.
We show how we move emails from traditional email clients into Podio.
If you use something like PodioTools, you can also reply to email or send emails right from within Podio.
You can also share items with people in Podio directly to by-pass email all together.
I hope that you really enjoyed this brief course on how we use Podio in our consulting business. Follow me to be kept informed of other courses.
I've always been good at helping people understand technology in a simple way, but what I have learned over the years is that small companies need help with more than just their CRM. I felt that just addressing that was missing the bigger picture a lot of times. Fixing the back end without addressing the front end won't do much to impact your bottom line.
Doing business the old way robs you of your time and money, taking precious time away from your family and what is really important to your life. By putting good systems in place you can free up your time to focus on the bigger things.
