I thoroughly enjoyed taking this course. It is simple to follow and uses techniques which enable the student to produce stunning effects with their pictures in an easy and satisfying manner. I found I could produce a piece of artwork which looked realistic and is certainly one of the best things I have done!
I'll be watching section one over a few more times to study the various techniques used. I found the actual techniques to be the most rewarding of the course. I would have loved to see more technique samples, watching her work on various pieces. Honestly, I wasn't taking the course for a brief history lesson/ overview of various watercolor artists so that didn't interest me much. The quiz itself is horribly done. You have to spend forever searching for the answers online as she briefly goes over who the artist is and doesn't cover anything asked on the quiz. Then you answer the questions and because they aren't worded exactly as she inputs them they are scored incorrect. Also the quiz repeats itself over and over again by asking you to answer the very questions you answered in question one.
I've always been a pretty terrible painter but I found this course very helpful is explaining colour theory clearly and helping me practice basic techniques. More importantly it gave me inspiration and courage to carry on practices and relax into painting. The artists referenced also showed the range of possibilities and kept me inspired and encouraged throughout. Recommended.
I absolutely loved it! Exactly what I needed to start expressing myself creatively. Completely removed the fear of getting it wrong, since technique is only an excuse to getting it started.. Looking forward for the next painting course.
