Vectr: Beginner's Guide To Graphic Design

In this lesson we will create a free account at Vectr, and see how to sign up with your email, Facebook or Twitter. After completing this lesson, you will be the owner of the account at Vectr and know how to log in the application. 

After completing this lesson you will understand how to navigate the main dashboard of Vectr, and how to access the main settings in Vectr. 

This lesson introduces Vectr graphics editor. You will learn how to understand the user-interface of Vectr and where to find the main tools. After completing the lesson, you will be able to follow the course or create first basic designs in Vectr yourself. 

In this lesson you will learn about the importance of pages and layers in Vectr, and how Vectr projects are structured. You will be able to understand the structure of your graphic design projects after finishing this lesson. 

You will learn how to select the designs, resize them, and rotate in Vectr. You will learn how to resize designs proportionally and edit them in a custom way. 

You will learn about the importance and functionality of workspace tools in Vectr. Workspace tools are: 

• flip tools
• geometry tools 
• move forward/backward tools

In this video we are going to learn how to create and edit straight and curved paths in Vectr. After finishing this lesson you will learn how to use one of the most powerful tools in graphic design - pen tool. 

In this lesson you will learn how to edit images in Vectr and why it's different than most of the other tools you may have tried. You will learn how to edit images most effectively in order to create beautiful graphic design projects. 

Text is one of the most crucial parts of every graphic design project. You will learn in this lesson how you can edit and manipulate text in Vectr. You will also learn about the difference between bounded and unbounded text in Vectr. 

Changing corners radius is powerful and fun feature in Vectr. You will learn in this lesson how to round up the corners in Vectr shapes and paths. Remember the rule: any straight point can be rounded. If the point is curved - transform it into straight by double clicking the anchor point. 

In this lesson we will learn how to group layers and manipulate them together. Grouping also allows to lock or hide several layers together. 

We will learn how to add and remove the filters in Vectr. The filters in Vectr are: 

• background 
• border
• shadow
• inset shadow
• opacity

We will drill down into the backgrounds in Vectr. In this lesson you will learn how to create color, image, or gradient backgrounds in Vectr. We will also see how to manipulate the backgrounds quickly. 

We will explore borders and shadows filters in Vectr. In this lesson you will learn how to add shadows and borders to Vectr projects, and how to best combine them with different backgrounds so it looks cool. 

Once you are done creating your file, you would want to export it or share with your colleagues and friends. In this lesson you will learn to what you should pay attention when exporting the files in Vectr. 

Designing is and must be a social activity. In this lesson you will learn how to share your designs via a unique and customizable URL, or export to desktop or print directly from Vectr.
