CFP®, CPA, Managing Member of FFG Wealth
Richard finished his CPA licensing requirements shortly after earning his accounting degree at University of San Diego. He developed a strong skill set in financial statement analysis at Grant Thornton LLP in San Francisco where he was quickly promoted to a Senior Financial Statement Auditor serving a variety of well-known Bay Area companies. With the desire to shift his career focus to investment advisory and financial planning services, he became a Financial Advisor with Waddell & Reed, working out of the San Mateo office. While working for a broker-dealer provided valuable exposure to a wide variety of investment and insurance products, Richard soon realized he wanted to work as an independent fee-based advisor. He spent 3 years at Marin Wealth Advisors building a practice from less than $5 million in assets to over ~$50 million with a strong focus on income-oriented investing using a covered call writing investment strategy. As a San Rafael native, he decided to follow his dream and build a wealth management firm from the ground up with one core theme in place, don't just do "right" by the client but instead constantly strive to serve them better. He married to his wife Cate in 2014 and has a baby daughter, Isla born in 2016. Richard & his family currently live in Marin County.
